I feel like more Monroe Fans should join this site. I've got a coworker that has a Son playing so He goes to every game. He is really excited about Their chances of making it to Chapel Hill. This Offense is incredible.

It is not just the offense. The total team speed is amazing, especially for the 2A level. Last night, ran a kick off back and close to a pick 6.
They don't look imposing, until the ball is snapped.

That almost pick 6 was by a defensive lineman. Incredible team speed. Fan support is somewhat lacking. Maiden had more fans there than Monroe even knowing what was probably going to happen.

Did Monroe just run all over the Blue Devils, how did they contain that backfield at Maiden.

Maiden has several very good athletes in the backfield and a not so great line. So to answer your question, I believe that they beat most of the teams on their schedule by a couple of their athletes (#5 and #24) essentially making plays because the other teams could not match up. However, when you play teams that have as many or more athletes as you do (i.e. Monroe, East Lincoln and Lincolnton) then you have to have some good line play to give your athletes more of a chance. That didn't happen and #24 was hobbled the last 4 or 5 games with an ankle injury which did not help matters (although, even if he was 100% healthy against those teams it would not have mattered). Essentially, it came down to getting beat up front on offense and defense. Whether that is scheme, personnel or a combination of both is up for debate.
