Lemme guess, Shelby was beat up before this game
I thought Shelby’s offense would put up more than 14. That’s a tall task especially playing at Shelby. Held us to the same amount and we were pretty banged up. Monroe is just on another level but they are due. Two years ago it was all we could do to put them away. In the first quarter I thought Monroe may be in trouble. Shelby looked really good.
Just RB1, Tristan Tate. High ankle sprain against Maiden. Didn't dress last week or tonight. He's a difference maker.
Feel bad for him as he is a senior and didn't get to play his last two games. Radio post game said he probably would have broken some Shelby records had he played these last two games.
But RB2, Jaylen Tate (no relation), filled in nicely and will be a dawg next year.
About 18 of the 22 starters will be back next year. Shelby should be favorites to win the 3A title.
Let's be honest. You know Shelby is about to win 4 straight regardless of how many come back. Look at 3A next year. Nobody in that list (maybe Lincolnton) will compete with Shelby come playoff time. Reidsville moved up so that matchup is done for. Burns has bright years ahead but conference would be the only time we play. As soon as those classes came out and Reidsville moved up everyone immediately said Shelby had a 4 year stretch to do it. It would be crazy to think they won't.
Congrats to Monroe. A team loaded with talent and has a great chance of bringing it home. Should be a great game with Brevard next week.
Congrats to Monroe, we did what we were suppose to in 1st half, but after the 2 Qb long runs seemed kids knew we we were behind 8 ball , and self destructed.

Nothing but respect and love for Shelby.. Great game by the Redhawks.. Kids had to settle down against a good Shelby team.. The future is always bright for Shelby. Good luck to Monroe next week against Brevard.. Don’t know much about them but if those Monroe kids continue to play it should be a good one..
Monroe want be stopped, there on a mission...ship goes home to them.
Jordan Young look to have a big game in the highlights. That one catch was awesome in those conditions
The silent MVP for Monroe has to be the O-Line. Shelby's front 7 has been playing lights-out for 8 weeks and the only time they sniffed getting a hand on Chambers was on the second 2-pt conversion attempt. The QB and RBs had gaping holes all night for long runs. I was really impressed with how quickly the Guards and Tackles pulled on the counter plays. The Monroe D-Line also put constant pressure on Shelby's QB and all but shut down the Shelby running game after the opening drive.
The skill position players are incredible, but just wanted to give some praise to the guys in the trenches for Monroe...they played with a high motor all game and when you control the line of scrimmage you have a great chance to win.
Very, very impressed with the Redhawks.
My Golden Lions had another great playoff run and grew tremendously as the year progressed. Can't wait to see the Golden Lions again next season.

Knowledgeable Rams brothers of yours must have hated your post above.
We have said for decades now that had Reidsville competed in a unified classification of same size schools (all 2A public schools in the state), they would not have accumulated the number of titles they claim.
Shelby wouldn’t have either.
Your observation of these four unified years producing four different champs is significant.
Not only will no program repeat as champs in these four years, Reidsville’s loss this playoff season was to East Rutherford, a classic member of the former WNCHSAA.
Reidsville dodged the WNCHSAA for 50 years, winning most of their titles during that distant period.
In pure unified classification seasons (no subclasses), Shelby has four titles. Reidsville has one, last year.
Robbinsville leads in unified titles with seven.
So, when winning state titles was the most competitive in North Carolina, Reidsville barely shows up. Reidsville actually went 31 recent consecutive years without even appearing in a title game. Most of that time was during the 1977 to 2000 unified seasons.
They are the self proclaimed “ capitol (sic)” of nothing.
Why do we care?
Because Reidsville has the NCHSAA in their pocket, touting to the media and everyone else this bogus claim of capital. Que Tucker calls Reidsville “her team”.
The NCHSAA does not even include the high school programs records from the old WNCHSAA or the NCHSAC, the historically black high schools. Shelby’s records before 1972 just vanish.
They are available, but purposely ignored by our supposed “state athletic association”.
Shelby does not claim to be this “capital”.
That is for others to decide objectively, not self proclaimed, as Reidsville did.
Shelby does historically and factually claim to be the True Dynasty in North Carolina high school football.
No one else is even close.

Shelby could not rise to the occasion for a full game. Both teams had known problems. Big deal. Oh and more......YOU CANNOT SHUT UP. Both teams will right their ships. You always are and always will be "LEAST LIKELY TO IMPROVE".

If there is a turf field in the future for Shelby, and you do not have to include lines for soccer on said field, perhaps the current look should be considered. Go with a tan or gold field with black lines.

Out of curiosity, do you have an entire spreadsheet saved of responses? You just have to copy and paste. I swear you have typed this 650 1/4 times. If you do not have said spreadsheet you really should. It saves you time and all of us time because I doubt anyone reads it at this point. You would feel good about posting it on your end and we would feel good by scrolling on down. It's really a win win for everyone.
I know that a version of this same manifesto was being posted pre Covid. When Eastern Randolph was in 2A saw it on here quite a few times. It has been updated/amended over the years looks like.
The time it takes to scroll by it has increased dramatically…

I haven't seen Monroe in person just on NFHS but I see a lot of similarities in Monroe and NE. ( who I have seen twice) Both have athletes all over the field and both have speed. If they both do their job and win next week we will have a great Championship game between two undefeated teams.
Probably comes from perfecting that hidden ball trick. Helps one learn to lay in wait.you come in with those zingers... you'll sit quiet for while then pewwwwwww
