I like Mathis and think he will figure his role out. We should not give up on him at all. He's a talented kid. Good defender. Good on the fast break. Athletic. He needs to be the slasher. He tried that a few times last night but his shots didn't fall. He missed a bunny too. If he makes 2 or 3 of those shots people think he had a decent night and contributed. There will be games where he will make a bunch of those shots and it's going to help carry the team
Read the game posts and you will see that people are frustrated with him. Maybe not “giving up” but Mathis has been criticized a bit on this board for the past few weeks and I feel it is a bit too farGive up??? Didn't even realize that's part of a conversation. Tez is one of my favorite players. He drives with authority, whereas others I feel drive with more finesse. I feel like he'd be the most likely person to dunk on somebody and he almost did last night. Sometimes you need some of that pizzazz and attitude in the mix, which is funny cuz apparently he's soft spoken off the court.
