I think it's safe to say you don't follow college basketball recruiting.

Coach Pikiell knows ex-Hartford player Pancake Thomas, now on the Hilltoppers roster. WKU's Stansbury has plenty of detractors, but has won more than his share of games.

Kind of doubt the head coach of WKU would want to leave his head coaching job to come be an assistant at Rutgers, but it's worth a shot.

For the record (again), I love Pikiell and this staff. I think they're very good and they're the right people for Rutgers right now. I am sure they will land their fair share of players and we will be competitive on the court night in and night out. That said, there are coaches at schools (even smaller ones) that can play the recruiting game and if they really want a player will likely be able to out-recruit RU if they decided to. Stansbury is one of those guys.

This is true but really only applies to "certain" kids....if that kid is landed by a Stansbury type of coach, is that really the recruiting pool of players that goes to certain schools??

Right. I agree with you. I don't know how much of a priority Mathis is/was to Stansbury, but having hem on Mathis' list was worrying to me.
