Remember that small population base gets free tuition.

This debate was done on the boards 10 years ago and never ended so I don't want this thread to debate it here.

So you're saying a team that draws from a huge population base, that has no restrictions on who can play for them, has an edge on a school that draws from a small population and is restricted to that base only. Wow. Youre a freakin genius

I am not saying anything - I am just making an observation - the make up of this class makes it difficult for public schools to compete, that's all. Look at the list of champions since 2000. Not endorsing any system just saying 5A is strange class. Really making a case that this class is not a great competitive environment but thanks for the feedback.

I am surprised to see that Montini would be a dog vs Richards. I mean, EP had a one-possession game vs Leo. Bronco probably wins this big.

Wassup 13: You are right about no posters who root for Montini are posting negative stuff about EP. Since I have been on this blog I have not seen Montini fans chirping about how great the team is or sniping or showing a lack of respect towards other teams they face.

Even though Montini has had success in the playoffs in the recent past, we also have suffered last year in getting beat in the first round of the playoffs by DeKalb. This is after all is high school football and anything can happen in a game. While we root for our team, after last year, I'm sure that Montini's players and coaches will not take any team they face in the playoffs lightly. Go Broncos!

Gene,

Yes we already got a scare from a great Sycamore team last week. EP was supposed to be out of the playoffs in week 1 based on their #16 seed and 2 games on the road. They are still playing in week 3. They are doing something right.

Freshman starting at quarterback and running back for Evergreen Park? Definitely bodes well for the future, but is an enormously daunting task against Montini. Obviously Montini wins this one going away, but good for Evergreen Park for what should be an exciting next few years of football.

Evergreen Park HS District may literally be one of the smallest in area across the whole state. It is less than 4 square miles total tucked inside a less-than-square region inside of 87th & 103rd Streets and Western & Pulaski Avenues.
