So the Flyers get on the bus, come to Chicago and come up with a nice win against a great Simeon squad. What's up for next weekend @flyerforlife? Can we get some insight into the Flyers we didn't have prior to Saturday?

Could be a long day for the Broncos down there. Setting the line at ESL -28.

Thats a whole new level of sandbagging. Coaching and discipline alone should put this game at MCHS -7

I don't know @godfthr53, 6 hour bus ride to beat the #4 team? Seems like they played pretty disciplined Saturday night. @Cross Bones, any silly penalties or undisciplined play from the Flyers you noticed?

The game got really chippy at one point and I'm both teams got hit with some of those penalties. But as for undisciplined play, didn't see much of that. I didn't see your game this year but last year I thought you would be able to deal with ESL defensively. This year.... ummm.

The only thing that will keep it close is team speed is the best it's ever been with this crew. Size on the other hand will not be an advantage for Montini. Decent sized, yes, but much more fast than big.

Does #65 play much for ESL? I see on the roster he is listed at a cool FOUR BILLS!
I couldn't tell you. Being a former DB I tend to focus on dbs and wr's. But a kid that massive would generally catch my eye so I would lean towards no, but don't put too much credence in that.

mchsalumni,
I personally thought the team 2 years ago was one of the best teams since 2010 and look what Montini did to the Flyers. I can't and will not predict the outcome but line at ESL -28. is way overboard. The key for the Flyers will be to play some good defense something they have not done against Montini in the last two years. If the Flyers play good defense I like our chances . Montini is like WWS . Always seems to have the Flyers number. So if I had to make a prediction I would say Montini(hope I am wrong).

Under the assumption that Simeon was overrated, I think the ESL win is being overstated. Montini wins this game by 16.

For 2 yrs Montini has been an underdog to ESL...and we know those outcomes.

I disagree with this statement. Montini in my opinion has never been the underdog. Yes ESL receive hype from some which is often confused with having a good team. With that said I will state the facts of the previous two meetings. The first meeting was in ESL at the classic. The backup QB (who eventually quit the team) played the entire game while the starter wait on an eligibility ruling from the state. Add that with the fact that the starting RB (who rushed for 270 LY) went down on his second or third attempt in the game equaled absolutely no offense for ESL. End result was blowout by Montini. Can't compete with a team like Montini with no offense. They will score some points.
Last year was a track meet and a high scoring affair. Like I said, Montini will score some points. The factors in that game were the QB broke his foot on Thursday before the game however he didn't get it looked at until after the game. He basically played the entire game on one leg as he couldn't put pressure on the broke foot. Thomas injured his ankle against the Ohio team the week before however he wanted to play against Montini. On a bad ankle the kid is still effective which is a testament to how good he is. On the second series the starting corner broke his ankle which put a thin team depth wise in a bad situation. despite it all I thought it was a good high scoring game with the team most deserving getting the win.
As of today, everyone is healthy on both teams and Montini is faster than last year. I don't think you will see a similar type of game as the previous two meetings. I think this will be a great game and should be fun to watch.

Last year the Bronco's kicked off to East St. Louis 6-7 times and East St Louis could not run it out of the end zone every time. Therefore no special teams was needed for the Broncos.

This year East St. Louis will get a chance to run the ball back on all the kick offs. This will make it much harder for the Bronco's to win this game.

very valid point in terms of field position. I will also add the QB style for Montini this year is totally different from the previous two.

This year Montini is way different on both sides of the ball the defense is night and day from last years defense.simeon had a 3 man front with no DEs why would anybody even do that is beyond me ESL QB will be tuning for his life that's a promise.montini is not Simeon Montini is prob one of the most well prepared teams in the state now anything can happen ESL speed is out of this world but they have a lot of holes in there game.that DE from Montini will be giving that LT all he wants and then more so I hope ESL QB is good throwing the ball under pressure
