Montini Wrestlers Win 6 Individual State Championships (out of 12 weight classes) in Class 2A.

106 pounds - Real Woods (freshman)

132 - Dylan Duncan

145 - Vince Turk (headed to Iowa)

152 - Luke Fortuna

In 3A the bus dropped off: 2 1st, 3 2nd, 1 3rd and 1 4th placer at OPRF.

Should get plenty crowded when Montini moves up to 3A next year.

My son got a B- on his AP Chemistry test. 3 other Fenwick football players got A's. I'll update you on the next test.

Maybe it's tike to petition to go up? Or nah... That's where OPRF, Sandburg, Glenbard North and Marmion reside. Better to stay in 2a and win championships then challenge themselves.

one would think they are going up anyway next year, along with Girls Basketball and Football.

I think they will be wrestling up next year. Their head coach has always wanted to be in 3A but the administration has said no.

They have wrestled in the top class for a 3 year period before. One year they lost to a top 20 in the nation team, Glenbard North, another year they finished 2nd overall and another year they finished 1st.

Montini is regularly ranked in the top 20-25 wrestling teams in the nation and there is no other school that competes more in all the big out of state tournaments including Cheesehead/Wisconsin, Ironman/Ohio and another in Minnesota/Clash.

Yet they thump their chests about 8 straight against clearly overmatched foes. Montini in 3a would be fun for everyone involved. Plus I believe the point you were trying to make is that they'd be competitive too.

I wouldn't say big whoop, but I'd rather it be posted at www.illinoismatmen.com.

Frankly, when I see posts about D Rose, wrestling and anything not football related, I would prefer it be left to the individual member of the Edgy Nation to find it if they choose. maybe a sub-category for wrestling or basketball, like baseball? I wouldn't read any of them ever, but some might.
