Why would you say anything now, you could have waited until the end of the week before you said anything if it happens.

Jace McCallum - Edge from Hickory Ridge

I’m not familiar with how transfer rules work. So overlook me as I ask this question. So how does transfer rules work. One time I heard if transferred to another school they had to sit out a year if they transferred late or something. I heard they could transfer under a hardship rule. Or does it matter anymore. Let me say I’m glad Mooresville was able to get the two good players. I just only had a question about how transferring worked.

I think it depends on each school district. In Yadkin, we have a policy that you cannot transfer between the 2 county schools and be eligible for sports, after the start of your junior year. You could transfer academically but would not be eligible for sports.

We actually found out start of junior year means the day the student is promoted to junior year in May and not when school starts in August. There was an issue this summer about it.

Ok thanks Deana, I was just wanting good clarification on how it worked. By no means this was to imply that what we seeing about players transferring that anyone is in the wrong about it. Ive wondered about how transferring worked for some time anyway.

I didn’t say any names, and never will. These young men deserve to make it known. I simply was saying Mooresville is getting better. This glorified quitting on your team aka transfer portal is completely out of hand. There are programs being destroyed because kids run to the super team over building at their assigned schools.
You watch we will have a team this year have to forfeit their season because of an illegal transfer.

There is still one more coming people are not expecting. It’s pretty easy to figure out once you see who has recently transferred.

I think we are far from a super team lol at least not in the traditional sense.

I mean unless your a coach or someone in the know, I havent heard anything about anyone else unless that person is keeping it on the DL from most of our Mooresville folks who are in the know.

Seems like Cox Mill and Hickory Ridge can't no longer keep athletes with their programs.
These kids have no interest in working hard at their school. It’s easier to all jump to one of 4 teams and win. They are going to destroy HS football. We need a 365 rule so bad!

HRHS will start building, they have the right coach. The middle school is absolutely loaded with talent.

When the heck did we start being considered the rich 😂😂
When 1/4-1/2 of your starters belong in schools in other counties. I’ve heard there are a lot of complaints in the ISS office today. I’m telling you someone is going to lose a season over all these transfers. The verification process is an absolute joke.

What is ICS? I do agree with your comments above. They need to tighten up on the rules of transfer portals. Getting way out of control and its already ruining College football.

I have 2 Ideas to Curve the transfer issue

#1 - In AZ if you transfer you can play that seaso but cant play like last 2-3 games of the season along with you are no eligible for playoff until the following season.

#2 - I think all should have 1 FREE transfer for Freshmen/Sophomore year. - Anything During JR or SR year - u play but ineligible for playoffs and must complete some type of course or something for the transfer to be approve by the former school , transfer school n parents.

What they need to do is have a special class with the superstar players and have the rest of schools with average players in their own class.

The thing is, the ones who have transferred moved into the school district. They did it the right way. Not so sure that others in the CMS system can say the same. As a matter of fact, I know one school definitely can’t say the same. I can name 2 at that school now that’s using an address yet still living at their original residence in the county they transferred from.

A thought came to my mind on my last statement I made. But I might start a thread on it. Very interesting topic I believe it will be.
