isn't it interesting now that Miles has been fired you don't have all these rumors and accusations against ad moos, makes a person wonder
The man is about to lay gold at the feet of NU fans for the second year in a row and some are complaining about the manner/timeliness of its delivery, or astonishingly, still questioning whether it will arrive at all.
I'll say it again, the man is a straight pimp. Hiring Frost was one thing, but following that up with Hoiberg a year later is just plain silly.

Hahahaah! The tears for miles were ridiculous. He doesnt deserve this. Uh, it was a day.
No, no, no! There's a stain and stench attached to NU that lingered for something like 8 minutes. The tears for miles were ridiculous. He doesnt deserve this. Uh, it was a day.

There are a lot of fans that don't remember how AD's were...in the last 20 years AD's became boring *** dorks with ties...they were no longer former players or coaches, they weren't "fans" of the program, they were afraid to be a normal person.
High school AD's still are normal, shoot after any meeting we have we end up at a bar with the AD buying drinks and shots and shooting the ****...
Moos is that type of AD.
Very well said.True that. There's a lot of Devaney in Moos. Thankfully not enough that he takes his clothes off and dances on tables at the Hillcrest CC lounge, I think, but clearly enough to earn people's trust and win them over.
Gaining a full share of the B1G at roughly the same time he arrived was also monumental in all of this. We have the money (finally) and we're not afraid to spend it (finally). Moos can find his guy and lead him through the door, no doubt, but money still closes the deal.
NU is now among a small handful of schools that can hand out the football and basketball contracts we will soon have in play. That said, I'm sure there are some NU fans that still want to question whether joining the B1G was a good thing, or whether we should go back to the Big 12. Frolls gonna froll.
I have a buddy who is a big Kansas fan and he asked me how Nebraska fans sleep at night leaving the Big XII, I said in a bed full of money.True that. There's a lot of Devaney in Moos. If you bash on Moos, something might be wrong with you. Or you are trying to grab attention. Just my opinion.
Anyone thinking that he should or was going to fire Miles before the season was over, was silly.
Just my humble opinion.
Very well said.
But, as far as our former Big 8 friends go, I think some people miss the close distances. It's easier to visit Norman than State College.
However, im cool with our change. Just kindof wish we could get a yearly OU matchup...![]()

I miss the close distances too. I miss playing OU even though it was no longer on an annual basis. I even miss playing CU, MU, KSU or whomever was our 2nd tier "rival" du jour. But I really like our current position and would not go back if given the choice.
It seems many NU fans would go back tomorrow if they could, not realizing or perhaps even caring that that would mean not having so many nice things. They also seem to have conveniently forgotten the nasty politics and unsure footing that made it impossible to stay.
Our football HC salary went up 67% from Riley to Frost. Our basketball HC salary will go up roughly 60% if the reports of Hoiberg making $4M/yr are true. That doesn't even factor the rise in assistant coaching salaries and recruiting/operational budgets, and/or the buyouts of multiple fired coaches and an AD.
NU was already in an enviable position with the money it was playing Riley and Miles even though the results were poor. We've now entered a new stratosphere with the full B1G share. Same thing on the academic side through the CIC, except we're talking about a pool of billions of research dollars that NU taps into.
But yeah, let's give all of that up for drivable road game in Ames, Lawrence and Manhattan. Smokin
I get it and I totally agree how the Big Ten is better because of the money...but in the end I am one of those people that really cares about myself...I would rather have close/short/quick road trips. I say that because it is easier for me, cheaper for me and ends up more fun for me.
Now...if the Big Ten was paying for my road trip expenses...it would be the BEST CONFERENCE IN THE WORLD.
Ha. I appreciate your honesty, man. And at least you fully understand the big picture and still don't care. I can respect that. And with that, Hagman tips his hat to Ewing.
For all the NU fans that don't sleep on a B1G pile of money at night, it simply comes down to preference. Would you rather your teams be more competitive even though you can't see/enjoy them as often in person, or generally less competitive but more accessible?
They don't have to be mutually exclusive of course, but again, money, money, money.
I am such a big JR Ewing fan...I don't know if you ever watched the show but I still check out his greatest lines...Larry literally was JR.
The part that bugs me the most. I didn't start doing road trips until like 5 years ago...so I missed all the short easy ones!

Iowa City and Ames essentially cancel each other out, so we're basically talking about the two Kansas schools. Everything else was a minimum 7- or 8-hour drive comparable to driving to Northwestern, Minnesota or Wisconsin.
So yeah, we're missing out on two three-hour road trips we used to have, and that does suck, but I'm also a fan of cities like Chicago and Minneapolis. Excited to make it up to Madison at some point too.

This made me think of the movie... lol.1. Purdue: The "Breakfast Club"
Ha! It was sort of like that! This made me think of the movie... lol.
Now, I got to wonder...
Bender once asked: "So it’s sorta social, demented and sad, but social. Right?"
That was an entertaining read! I cant imagine that sort of thing going down in Lincoln, though...Ha! It was sort of like that!
The students dress up in costumes and hit the bars at 5am...we got there at like 9am and it was bananas!

Sounds like a lot of fun! Might consider doing a trip to West Lafayette... SmokinIt was cool to see, and the students were all about it and were super fun to party with even though my group was older than them (They probably hated us but oh well)
The 5am opening time is EARLY, I think some of the bars in Lincoln already hate that they are competing with each other to be the first bar open on game day. I am not sure if there is a Lincoln ordinance that says 9am is the earliest a bar can open.
It was fun, I am sure you would like it. I was really surprised how much fun it was.Sounds like a lot of fun! Might consider doing a trip to West Lafayette... Smokin
If they hated you guys, meh, A little Husker spirit is good for 'em!
