Should've canned Miles weeks ago. At least try to ignite a spark and salvage something from the season for the players. There's talent, why punish the team for understandably giving up on Tim?

Miles' former assistant Craig Smith at Utah State is currently leading against Nevada. If they hold on, the Aggies will likely get an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. It's looking more like Smith was the true brains behind Miles.
No doubt about that.

Is Smith more of an offense or Defense guy? I remember the teams at CSU looking far better offensively than NU had looked in a while.

Coaching has nothing to do with xs and os in basketball. It is all about the talent a coach can bring in. Miles should be held accountable for bringing in the team he has but don't act like any coach would win with this group. They can't shoot...no matter the scheme they can't hit long range open shots. Miles has had a couple really balanced teams and they have been some of the best teams in NU history, so he can "coach", what that really means is every 4 years or so his risk taking in recruiting pays off...his transfers and "diamonds in the rough" stay long enough to pan out. To be honest I would think historically that NU has always been bad, but have been better under miles more than the previous coaches going back 25 years...give Miles support and understand that winning at NU will take creativity and risk taking. And risk taking has massive positives and negatives by nature.
