More rebounds than misses?

Box score has 51 total rebounds, but only 48 missed shots. Is this just a matter of poor scorekeeping?

Wrong answer.

There is always team rebounds that don't get credited and rebounds off free throws.

I don't know about all that, but I think you have to count missed free throws.

Believe even missed FT's (first of 2 or first 2 of 3) should still be listed as either team rebounds or dead ball rebounds. In scorekeeping I was always taught there had to be a rebound for every missed shot.

It's possible you neglected to count the missed foul shots.
