As others have pointed out, beating the No. 4 team in the country when two of your leading scorers score 9 points on 3-11 shooting (and Beran was 1-4) is really, really impressive. It's one game and we are going to get crushed in some games this year, but there is depth on this team which we have rarely ever had. When you realize that all of these guys can come back next year and we add three very solid recruits, there is some reason to be optimistic.

The offense generally looked fine today. Apparently, Collins learned how to coach. You can see why he has Nance as a stretch 5. He creates space in the lane and he's a good passer (although he forced a couple of passes today). And he's just a good enough shooter to make his defender guard him.

Berry is obviously a very good shooter. But his confidence is probably most impressive. He didn't look intimidated at all. And he's not a great athlete by any stretch but his hands are really quick. He has generated a lot of tipped passes and steals in limited time. We can definitely use more of that.

I think Audige will be fine. He does everything pretty well. And his shot selection will get better (or he will sit on the bench for stretches). I think he will have some really good games this year. He sat out for a year and has never played against this level of competition.

Really happy for the players and coaches. As upset as we get after losing close games, believe it or not it's a lot worse for them.
