More zone?

Based on my memory, our zone defense, when used, has been very disruptive. I remember during the Kentucky game we went to a zone (when the game was way over) and I think we got like 2-3 steals from deflections. It disrupted UVA in the first game, we used it against Pitt and of course in the come back against Louisville.

Does anyone know of the stats of our zone defense vs. man? Like I said, from my recollection, it seemed better than our man. Of course, that included Zion. I’m not sure what it looks like without him. It will be interesting to see if K use it tonight against Syracuse.

Doing something different from time to time, makes the other team adjust. Whether it’s going zone, or a seldom used guy filling in for a star, we’ve seen it work plenty of times.
As you said, the defensive change against Virginia this season, the zone against Louisville in the acc tournament against Louisville, the zone in 15 against them at their place, just after coming off a beat down by Miami in Cameron. Sanders filling in for Boozer in 01.
Maybe Zion being out a game or two will force K to adjust, and someone who hasn’t been good, will become a contributor.

Sometimes all it takes is just a little break to go a kids way, and if it does, then we become a much better team when Zion suits up again.

I think K has something up his sleeve tonight. I hope we don't try to play the same pressure defense that we do at full strength. It's really hard on Jack, and were gonna need Alex's offense tonight. Having Alex pressure someone 30 feet from the basket is a disaster.

I trust K. There have been a lot of social media outlets mocking Duke with things such as "oh poor Duke, they can't win with only 2 top 5 picks." I think K shows everyone why he's the GOAT tonight.

I think we do need to look at a zone today. It's worked well for when we have used it. Just need to keep our eyes on the back door. OFC
