Morgan Wallen cancelled

Cumulus Radio has instructed all their stations to stop playing Morgan Wallen immediately. After watching the video footage and reading the TMZ article, TMZ makes it appear that Wallen and crew were being rowdy, which caught the attention of the neighbors and encouraged one to begin filming. However, the same neighbor is filming him the next morning while he is leaving the house. IMO, the neighbor was already being paid to surveil him or planned to catch footage to sell. Why would you be recording him the next morning while he's leaving the house without incident?

It's difficult to defend Wallen in the video. It does appear to be jokingly said, but you have to know better, especially if you are a celebrity.

It would just be nice if the fans could decide on their own by not buying or requesting his music instead of the platforms to completely censor him from public consumption. The platforms don't want to lose advertisers, but it removes the ability of the consumers to choose what they want.

It's hilarious to hear his "country" music now and go back and watch his time on The Voice as a pop artist. Just shows he is country because it's convenient for his career.

I didn't know who Morgan Wallen was until he was pulled from Saturday Night Live because he violated COVID protocols by making out with a groupie in public. For some reason, he is currently the biggest mainstream country music singer right now, but most people can't name anything that he sings.

No idea who this is but if you're yelling the n-bomb in the year 2021 and feel surprised when people video/record it, I got nothing for you.

He said it once while the person was already recording him. The neighbor did not start recording him with professional sound quality because he said it first.

Was the neighbor (paparazzi posing as a neighbor) stalking him until he made a slip-up? Isn't that how the paparazzi works?

I mean, your boy Chris Stapleton did a great song with him.

“Only thing that’s gone”. Check it out. Entire double album is fire (23 songs in apples top 100).

Get used to it or have fun listening to Dinasaur for the 1,000,000th time.

“Professional sound quality”? Half of not more of the video, professional and otherwise today is shot with iPhones. If you have one you too can shoot with “professional sound(and video) quality”.

The same person recorded him leaving the next morning, and you can barely hear the truck door closing. But you can hear a crisp conversation the night before using the same recording equipment? OK.

The neighbor waited by the window all morning to capture video of him leaving? Why would you do that unless you are working as paparazzi and/or stalking the guy?

I’ve not done any deep dive into this but it could very well be that his behavior is common thus the neighbor decided to record it and sell it to TMZ. I live in Nashville and see “stars” quite frequently. They don’t have paparazzi following them around. Individuals will record them on their phones from time to time... if they’re doing stupid ****, that’s on them.
Today anybody and everybody should just assume if they are out in public that they are being recorded. If you’re in my neighborhood most everyone has Ring or similar doorbell cameras. There’s nothing that goes on that isn’t recorded.

It’s hard to explain, but I feel like my family name has been sullied with this conversation.
🙄

*He’s the biggest thing in country right now. Hell, across all genres. Dangerous was trending to be the number 1 album by the end of the week.

*Or at least was

So having multiple #1's on the country chart doesn't pique your interest enough to check him out...

No...given what it requires, or rather, what it doesn't require to make a #1 country song in today's era.

"Individuals recording them on their phones from time to time" would count as amateur paparazzi.

It's pretty obvious that the neighbor was routinely surveilling him in attempt to make money. This wasn't just some one-off that was caught on camera because they were being noisy.

I guess we’re all “amateur paparazzi” these days.
Best defense is to not be an ******* and don’t do things that would be valuable to others. If you give cause, people will use it. Morgan has already shown in his brief time in the spotlight that he has a habit of making bad decisions. It’s part of the territory that comes with fame.
As I said, Nashville has 100s of stars bigger and having been in the spotlight longer. Rarely do we catch them doing stupid ****...but it does happen.

Not a good look he went with the N bomb instead of the more acceptable p*ssy-a$$ b*tch’ insult.

I think we can all agree he would’ve been fine if he’d gone that route.

Never heard his music and no idea what he stands for....shouldn't he just claim he is a Democrat and/or hates Trump, and all the Nazi's that voted for him, and all will be forgiven?

He was NOT CANCELED. Suspended. His record company will have him back. He will tour again. He will make money. This is temporary.

Words have consequences, whether on stage or in public, drunk, messing around with friends (I realize it was right outside his house). He is also a white person from a rural area. He does not get to use the word the same as a Black person does. I don't care if you think that is unfair, it is reality.

Personally I'm a fan of his music. He has a lot of great songs, and people bagging on him because they don't like present day "country" is absurd. His new double album is tremendous. And just because you think you are cool and "have never heard of him" before doesn't mean he isn't a huge star (the second biggest country star right now behind Luke Combs I would guess).

He unfortunately has some "growing up to do" and needs to make better decisions. He will hopefully learn to do that and he will be back.

My only thought after seeing the videos is surely that’s not his house, right? Thought he’d be in some better digs.
