Going back to where it all began.

In 1979, Morris traveled to Geneseo for a semifinal game and it is the game that launched the Redskin program. Going into the game Geneseo was the 3 time defending 3A state champion, had a 31 game winning streak, and was 49-1 over the previous 3+ years. Morris won 14-8 in a game that featured a blocked Geneseo field goal attempt and a late defensive stand.

While this game has a 0% chance of being that significant it should be a good game with the reward for the winner being a date with Montini.

Fun fact, Geneseo played Macomb the week before the Morris game in 1979 and 2025.

Was a Montini fan in my youth. Attended the 82 semi final game between Montini and Geneseo. What a fantastic atmosphere. Geneseo ran over what I thought was a really good Montini team.

I don't see Morris hanging 64 points again, but I think they are a threat to score every possession they have. If Geneseo can grind out some long, time consuming drives with their option attack, they can keep it close. I don't think they have the horses to keep up with Morris though.

I was at this game too. My first time in Geneseo and the entire town was shut down for the game and the cannon went off for every TD. One of my favorite places to see a game.

In my college dorm we had two Montini and two Geneseo guys on our floor and would often talk about our Geneseo experience with guys on our floor in the lunch room.

That year Montimi had WR Bob Westerkamp who was the runner up State Player of the year to Oak Parks Eric Kumerow.

I don’t think I can get 9 holes in, then make it to Geneseo, Lombard or Byron, and also make the 5 pm kickoff in Wilmo. I think early Saturday afternoon will be multiple streams.

Agreed. That Montini D is outstanding and their QB wow. Very impressive to finally watch them this year.
