Have we heard anything recently. When did his case get rescheduled for? Would be nice to have all this wrapped before fall ball.

The court date on the 13th is just to appoint a local attorney since the one who is representing him now isn't licensed in California. Then they will go from there.

If he insists he did nothing wrong, then he will have to go to trial. That will be a longer process than trying to reach a plea deal.

Wow, could this really go to trial? That seems insane. Thought these type of cases always go to a plea deal. I guess it depends how hard the state wants to push it and how innocent Mo thinks he is. I thought plea deal, guilty of the misdemeanor, drop the child porn, would be an easy done deal.

I still expect them to plea down the charges. Take the slap on the wrist, son.

Most all of these type of things ALWAYS get pled down to a lesser charge (Normally a charge less or two). My GUESS is this will get lowered to a misdemeanor a crossed the board and maybe probation. That more then should allow him to remain on the team. I really really don’t see him being kicked off. Not unless something goes very wrong, which shouldn’t if he’s got a decent to good attorney...and yes...I had my run ins with getting into trouble when I was younger and been to court a couple times ;)

Court appointed attorney??????:( He's screwed. I thought his family was hiring their own attorney.

Lol sometimes that’s the case but I have a feeling it may not be a court appointed one...he’s just saying he’s going in next to name his next attorney....now if he can’t afford one, then they will give him a appointed one.

I don't know this situation here but if they hired an attorney who isn't licensed in that jurisdiction they have to get a local attorney to be on the case. If you followed the Anthony Garcia case his attorneys from Chicago were affiliated with an Omaha attorney named Jeremy Jorgenson, and it was basically the most entertaining $--t show since someone shot JR Ewing.

His late father was an NFL WR...invest well and watch your money

He never played in the NFL, he signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Raiders in 2005. Went through Training Camp, never caught a pass in the preseason and was let go Aug. 30, 2005. He went for a physical and tryout with a CFL team in the Spring of 2006, during the physical was when they discovered he had cancer.

I am not familiar with all the legal details but there are potentially many things that could have life long implications that need to be taken a bit more seriously than simply making a plea arrangement so he can get on with playing football

Things like - having a child porn misdemeanor/plea on your record, potentially having to register as a child sex offender, etc, etc. Potential career choices become pretty narrow with something like this on your record.

I will leave it to the lawyers to clarify but there are issues here that are likely much much bigger than football. To the point where he may benefit from just redshirting this year to get this taken care of - particularly if he is required to do a great deal of community service. Might also give him the opportunity to refocus and reflect on how all of this could have easlity been avoided as he transitions into the adult world of accountability.

Anyone concerned that he might actually be a scumbag? Is it possible that it might be better if he doesn't come back?

Yeah, but lets wait for the results of the actual trial to find out what happened;)before we deem him the second coming of R Kelly.

That is a great point. One I really haven't considered. No need to rush things. RS would give him time to refocus, get this courts stuff settle and in the rear view mirror.

One mistake does not automatically make someone a scum bag. Now if this type of behavior continues they yes he might fall into that category. If he does end up having other behavioral issues. I trust Frost to recognize it and take appropriate action.

I can guarantee you I can find something you've done that is worse.
I can guarantee you that you can't but please try and let's see if you're just full of hot air. What did he do again? Kept a video of a sexual assault/rape of a 15 year old minor ex girlfriend by his friends without reporting it? Did he then allegedly send the assault/rape video to the victim with basically a reminder of what happened as a threat? Are those the allegations? If so, it's easier for me to support the girl in this deal. She seems to deserve sympathy. Anyone have a 15 year old daughter? If she was raped, would it anger you if she was sent a tape of her assault as a reminder? How would you feel about the guy who sent it? Anyway, that's why I wondered how folks felt about it. Seems like the consensus is that its not that big of a deal.
