The Walking Dead. I attempted to watch the series a couple of times. I could never get beyond knowing that every new vehicle/luxury motorhome in the USA was free for the taking and they got around in clunkers. Free gas fill ups available about every five miles or so. Every stocked supermarket in America abandoned and they would go days with no food. Every gun store in America left open but weapons and ammunition are in short supply. Walkers eat everybody they catch and yet they are whole after they they become walkers I could go on for hours.

This thread really should be taken down when people list Seinfeld and The Wire. Probably hipsters.

I concur. Two of my all time favorites.

As far as TV shows that are over rated i would say...

  1. Any/all reality shows
  2. Family Guy
  3. True Blood
  4. The Walking Dead

The first three seasons of MASH were great. It wen to **** after Rogers and Stevenson bolted, and Alda turned it into a political statement.

Not sure how anyone could think Seinfeld, or FNL, were overrated. The reality show has destroyed tv as we know it. Thankfully we have Antenna TV, and MeTv as alternatives.

M.A.S.H. the movie was great. The series was decent but as posted above, when Rogers and Stevenson left, the slide to mediocrity started. I've never watched the final episode and probably never will.

If your opinion is you don't like it fine but your reasons are dumb.

"Every stocked supermarket abandoned"? Really? On the show, most stores have been looted.

"Gas available every 5 miles"?? Really? No electricity to pump the gas and what gas there was, was probably used up pretty quick.

Same with your guns and ammo theory. Probably looted fairly soon after the start.

First two seasons of Lost were really good, but it devolved into a weird emotional shitshow by the end. I wouldn't consider it overrated though because most tend to acknowledge that, and it doesn't take away from the early seasons.

Also the walkers eat everyone yet they are whole comment. Well the walkers that are whole are either people that got knicked/but and got away then turned or were automatically turned into walkers from the onset right?

You shut your filthy mouth!

Don't get me wrong, I liked it as a kid, watching TGIF with the family. But have you watched an episode today? Man.. It's rough. For nostalgia, it's enjoyable.. But the lines are total cheese. If we're gonna bash BBT for lame network comedy, it should apply to BMW also.

But at the time, I don't think anyone thought 80s and early 90s was cheese. Only until later did we realize how that was ridiculous but it never registered then. Totally different state of mind and culture then.

The wire, South Park, entourage and saved by the bell are institutions in TV. Anyone saying that they are overrated doesn't know good TV, go back to the bachelor and survivor.

This season of South Park was especially good. Caitlin Jenner is the most beautiful woman in the world. LOL

I never liked Seinfeld or Friends.

So, IMNSHO they are over rated.

But as a great American once said... "Opinions Vary"

Cheers was a victim of its own success. First few years were good.

All in the Family is dated and political. Mash was good at the start as well.

Allah Akbar or whatever.

AitF was a satire about racism across the board or you don't coon in an approved tv script...even in '71. The cross episode with Maude(spinoff) Edith's cousin, was classic tv at its finest.

By far for me it is Saturday Night Live. The early years were great and Murphy and others were funny, but that has been bad TV for a long time.
NL is a weird one, been on 40+ years and as you say probably had, maybe 5 good ones. Everyone knows and agrees with this, and yet somehow the show's rep sustains.

Since The Wire is routinely called best ever, it's almost by definition overrated....
