surprised there's no Madison on there for the girls
seems like every fourth kid I ran into or over was named Madison when I was around Atlanta

I wanted to name my son SLIDELL RICH.......thought that sounded like a blues player

apparently that's not a level headed thing to do

and I had 2 girls anyway

I am a baby boomer -- much older than many of you.

It's amusing to me that some of these names I remember as seeming old-fashioned to me when I was a kid.

They were the names of people who were a lot older than I.
I first noticed this about 20 years ago (right before I started having kids, so maybe I just wasn’t paying attention before that). Especially with girls, names that seemed like my grandmother’s generation suddenly were popular again. Emma. Sarah. Ava. Sophie. We had none of those. All the girls in my class were named Lisa.

Still no herbert, Alvin, barney, Ethel, Beatrice...those names sound old as hell.

When I was growing up, Biblical names dominated these lists. Especially on the male side. Things sure have changed since then.

....and let's be honest -- we can't be that far away from a new infusion of non-binary, non-terrestrial oriented names like:

or

KrrklR

or maybe

There was a girl in front of me at the pharmacy a few weeks ago named Ladasha but spelled it la-a. Annoying

These are baby names folks, there not the names that were popular when your 10 year old was born. Madison and Caleb are on those lists.

I mean 4 of the 5 are directly from the bible and 2 of the others are derivatives of biblical names. You're being a bit dramatic
2010’s as a decade have more male Biblical names in the top ten (7) than the 50’s (6), 60’s (6), or 70’s (5).
Also people under 35 (millenials) are having less sex and have less sexual partners than any generation before them, but I bet there are people that think young people have no morals anymore.
