Costco has Orbi Model RBK753S-100NAS mesh 3-pack w/wifi 6 for $499. Says cover 7500 sq ft.
Installed yesterday. Works very well. I decided to try this less expensive one than the one I originally intended to order. Glad I did.

Any idea what would work best with Metronet in Lexington? I have a 2600 sq ft house and use the Metronet modem and router.
Daughter always complaining the PS4 has crappy wifi and she is wearing me out. Modem is on the first floor and PS4 is in a room between the 1st and 2nd floor. I can see the modem from that room and the signal is not good all the time.

The Netgear Obit Mesh System works great in my 4000 sf home. Just installed it last week.

My boys had/still have a good enough signal for streaming video, but gaming was just ok.

My router has four Ethernet ports.

I ran them each their own dedicated line. It’s a real easy job if you have a crawl space or unfinished basement.

There hasn’t been any bitching since March.

Mesh networks superior to extenders but more typically comes down to the bandwidth you’re paying for than limitations of router

As I said earlier in the thread, I bought and installed the Orbi Model RBK753S-100NAS mesh 3-pack w/wifi 6.

Now, often, when I click on a website, I get a screen that says I can't connect to the websites server, and something about Firefox, etc.

When I click on "Try Again", the site will always open.

This never happened before I installed the Orbi.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Buy a cable modem and a mesh system. You'll need to spend a lot of time on the phone with Spectrum, getting them to re-configure for a cable modem, instead of a router/wap setup. But you're going to like the results, particularly if you have an older house with plaster/lathe walls (wireless killers)

Until you can it through their thick schools at spectrum that you now have JUST a cable modem (w/o a built-in WAP), that mesh system isn't going to work.

Is this a laptop that you take back and forth to the office, or strictly a "home computer"

Also, if you are using Firefox, then don't.

Edge or Chrome

Also

  1. Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
A warning page may appear. Click Accept the Risk and Continue to continue to the about:config page.
  2. In the Search field at the top of the page, enter network.dns.disablePrefetch.
  3. If the preference does not already exist, select Boolean and click the Add button to create the preference.
  4. Change the preference value from false to true by pressing the Toggle button.

I installed the same system a couple weeks ago and have no issues whatsoever.
