Skid Row - great hair band that came on the scene a little too late. Big voice and good guitarist.

Great White - if you want marketable bluesy rock, this band is way better than Cinderella in my opinion. . . which is usually correct.

Whitesnake & Tesla for hair bands.
Little River Band, REO Speedwagon, Bread for the 70’s and 80’s vibe.
Chris Ledoux, for the country folk.
Georgia Satellites, Allman Brothers, Little Feat for the southern rockers.

What is your definition of underrated. I say Aerosmith is head and shoulders better than The Rolling Stones but they don’t get near the credit. I also agree with CCR & Cinderella. Those are 3 bands that their lead singers voices were so good and unique.

Too lazy to put too much thought into this topic but three that come to mind off the top are:
The Clash
The Blasters
The Wailers w/ Bob Marley..

I still have the KISS lunchbox that I carried to kindergarten. Ace is the reason I first picked up the guitar. I camped out for tickets for the first reunion tour with makeup.
That being said, this is the worst take in the thread. Their songs are the most simplistic tunes ever written. Ace is sloppy as hell and didn't even actually play on half of the albums he was in the band for.

I agree with whoever said Cinderella. They might have had the hair band look at first but their just a straight-up, blues rock band.

Will respectively disagree, having seem most of our classic rock heroes live, I contend that musically they are underappreciated.

Different strokes...

I would have never known who Mott the Hoople was had I not read Nikki Sixx’s book.

I've been a Rush fan since 1981. Thirteen at the time. I liked a lot of progressive rock bands before I knew what progressive rock was. The Who, Genesis(Gabriel), Kansas, Pink Floyd, ELP, ELO, Jethro Tull, Yes, and on and on. Glad Rush hasn't been mentioned. Guess they have gotten their respect.

Rheostatics. 2nd best Canadian band of all time and most Americans have never heard of them.

I’ll throw Journey in the ring

Journey underrated? Good grief.

R&R HOF
5 albums that were top 5
7 consecutive albums that were multi-platinum
18 top 40 singles (6 top 10)

Their songs have been covered and used in TV, Film, and even Broadway.

You better stick to blowing Tiger's root.

Bands in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aren't "underrated."

Now, the Flamin' Groovies are underrated.
