*Pisgah by 42 (Flat Rock has some awesome folk but football looks down for a few more years)
*Enka upsets North by 1 (Will Mike Sexton build a program where many have tried, but failed? There for the taking if they can stop HC)
*Tuscola by 3 (Leave the clash in the past and come out with the same intensity, CB needs to get creative like the first half of last week)
*West upsets Franklin by 3 (West record doesn't show the potential, I have heard Rona issues early on was the difference maker)

It's been a perfect storm for west, and not in a good way. The week before opening day their stud QB hurts his shoulder in a scrimmage against rosman. He wouldn't come back until week 5. On top of that, week 1 against east rutherford got cancelled because east rutherford didn't have a varsity team. They were given less than a week to prepare to play a state title contender against chase. They had to play chase and hendersonville, 2 title contenders, back to back. Then the covid factor comes in. Up until 2 weeks ago they have been missing multiple starters every game because of it. Rumor is around 3 starters were pulled off the bus at the last second when they were set to play north henderson, because of contact tracing, they were basically just drawing it in the dirt on the sideline in pregame. I have little doubt they could and likely would have won that game were it played today. Oh well, that is football in 2021. Suit up and play.
The silver lining here is that west can probably still make the playoffs by winning out, and they're playing their best football of the season. That is a tall task but that would put them at .500 in the conference. Even if they don't, there is still a lot to like and look forward to. West only loses 1 senior starter so I've heard and they've been able to get young guys a ton of experience this year. They'll return nearly everyone and they'll be experienced. You cannot ask for more than that.

Good grief, Charlie Brown, why do you drone on and yada yada yada about WH on every thread. Why don’t you post your own thread about WH, and how they had this and that happen this year, and how good they will be next year. Name the thread “Let’s Talk About West Henderson Football”. If you do that, you will be amazed at how many people really don’t care. Volleyball will always be #1 at WH.

There use to be a couple of West posters on here but hadn't seen anything from em in a while.
If west is young and pisgah should reload again next year, throw SM and Franklin in there. Should make for one exciting conference contest next season.

Yes, I am the only person to respond that will talk about West Henderson football, and say how bad it really is.

Enka by 4
Smoky by 6. Smoky has the better running game, and Tuscola will have issues with Smoky’s big receiver. Should be a good game though.

I knew SM would beat tuscola by 14 at least. WH/ Franklin wow what a barn burner. Enka has a streak going, wow.
Congrats to West on the win last night. Just want to give my opinion on the game. It was much more about Franklin beating Franklin than West beating Franklin. Twice the Panthers were deep in West territory only to have penalties (one was questionable at best) kill drives. Instead of TD’s to seal the win we settled for FG’s. West can throw the rock around but had no run game. Their D needs some work. Being young, I’m sure their trajectory is up. As I said in the game thread the wheels have really fallen off for Franklin. Injuries, depth, frustration, & a lack of focus would be my guess. Nothing surprises me in this conference but I’d raise an eyebrow if they beat Tuscola. Anyhow good luck to West going forward while us Panther fans are left to ponder….. “what if!!!”.
Tuscola showed no fight or urgency last night .As per usual play calling was terrible the run game is abandoned at the worst time for the bomb throw left or bomb throw right. Had 2nd and goal on the 3 threw 3 straight incompletions. as I said last week Tuscola would lose there last 2 games . Wish I could say different but I can’t. A 29% winning record kinda makes it hard and after seeing it in person for 2 years well ….. you kinda figure it out.
We all somewhat figured the Pisgah let down was coming unfortunately. Trying to stay optimistic thru the process. Gotta stay positive and up beat.

And nueman… honestly who do you want to lead the program for Tuscola? Due to school board issues and people crying about every single loss etc Tuscola is not getting calls from Nick Saban about the job.
Brookshire has created a great environment on the Hill. Tuscola is a couple plays or transfes away from first place in the conference.

This game could of swung the other way. We had our chances. But man we came out super flat no emotion in the first half and smoky pounced on it like they should. The last score showed poor taste by the coaching staff with a fast clock running down and less than 20 seconds on it. And you have already won it? Low class.
Agree. Most of the in county transfers were due to butthurt parents who didn’t get their way or get that certain job….

No disagreeing there, West has some things to work on but they’re young and will return every starter on both sides of the ball from last night. It’s more just the fact that west was written off not long ago, while I was trying to tell folks they weren’t as bad as their record. They’re healthy, gaining experience and playing their best ball of the year right now.
…and their kids have flourished at PHS! Keep ‘em coming! By the way, some of the recent transfers have moms that work at Pisgah. They weren’t butt-hurt, there kids WANTED to come to Pisgah!

They lost a family member last night in the stands during 3rd quarter due to a heart attack. We did what we could and worked on him until EMS transported. They never got him back.
Tough thing to deal with at an event and especially when the connection to the school and team playing is so close.
Thanks for remembering them during this time.
