If I was going on logic I'd say Heritages defense can't stop Mitchell and Mitchell wins by a couple of scores but this is a rivalry game and anything can happen. Who you got?

You must've saw our defense Friday lol First time I've ever seen kids on a Heritage defense actively avoid contact, I've been hard on our d all year but that was the first game I was honestly ashamed to watch, it is odd we have a qb and rb who actively look for contact they need to get more playing time on d even if they don't know the position at least I know they ain't afraid lol Idk when we got so scared of playing people both ways our best defensive player number 44 plays both ways and has all year in 2009 our running back and qb played both ways the entire year.

I saw a starter late in the game against Avery avoid contact when he had an angle on a runner, we haven't had a great year defensively but that was the first conformation that we have scared kids on defense which I don't think you can coach that out of a player.

I think our offense keeps it close for a while then Mitchell gets a couple of stops down the stretch and pulls away.

Even in a rivalry game? Not to say that it won't happen. Just asking, what makes you say that?
It'd be nice if we had any depth.
I've seen both teams a few times. Mitchell is better up front this year and should be able to run it fairly easily on Heritage. Heritage needs to come out fast and force Mitchell to play from behind. Mitchell will look to control the clock and shorten the game.
Oh ok. I figured it would be a dog fight seeing it's one of the premier rivalries of WNC.

LOL there’s not much to say. There will be no surprises Friday night. Both teams are going to do what they do and battle this thing out in a phone booth. That will 100% favor the Mitchell Mountaineers. I suspect they install some sort of jumbo package and just pound the A-gap and keep the Cougs from having possession.

You got that one! I remember huffing out of that hole three years ago….twice, I forgot my phone before the game started. Never been to Ledger. You should check out mitchell football facilities, they have 14 million dollar football complex, state of the art workout equipment. Atmosphere is awesome at mitchell, lots of excitement in the youth league for Mountaineers. One of the best head coaches in the state
I’ve seen photos of the facilities. Every school in the state should be green with envy, and Mitchell would have no excuse to be a formidable opponent for anybody!
I hope all the good people up there in Mitchell and Yancey are okay and were not hurt by last weekends flooding. Two years ago was a once-in-a-lifetime blow!
Looks like we may get 1 home game then have to travel, although if we take care of business the next 3 games that could change.
