I view this a big positive bump for the OU Football Program. Almost as good as the hiring of Bob Stoops. Recruiting will get even stronger. With a more balanced offense/defense, this team could really take the conference by storm.

And early, imo.

back to back to back games at LSU, Bama at home and at Auburn will be a lot different than Texas neutral, Texas Tech at home and Baylor on the road but I am excited about it. Glad the playoffs will go to 12 because unlikely that anyone escapes the new SEC West with only 1 loss. More likely 2.

I am probably most excited/hopeful we can start getting dominant DLineman again. Everything from thereon is easier.

“Both schools will honor their network commitments until the 25 season” ?
Let’s get it on !
I guess we’ll have to settle for a few more XII trophies until then

No way they stay that long. I am guessing a reduced exit fee and 2023 at the latest. Hoping for 2022 but we will see I guess.

I can hear AD's around the Big 12 now asking their secretaries to get them the number to every conference so they can see who will take them as well as the accountants looking at their budgets seeing what to cut out or which donors to hit up for more money to try and stay relevant.

Recruiting for OU will improve as an increased presence in the southeast will occur and for that matter, OU's nationwide appeal will be stronger as an SEC member.
But the competition will be tougher. A lot tougher.

I agree but as long as they keep winning competing for SEC & National Championships it'll will make the recruiting competition a little easier.

If the "left behind" teams don't allow for a negotiated exit, they will add insult to injury with our future recruiting. Imagine loading up on kids coveted by the SEC but get to cut their teeth on a year or two of Big 2+ teams.

Look at it from the Big XII perspective. If you ride out the contract, their conference still goes to hell, but they don't get any payout from OU/UT. If they negotiate, they lose you, but get something. The real question mark is what the departure of OU/UT does to Big XII per team shares with you gone. If that goes down, they are going to want compensation for the delta PLUS something. There seems to be enough money to work with, so a deal should happen.

I lose the Iowa State, KU and KState away game potential but gain Mizzou and Arkie. A slightly better option with SEC.

It'll go down if heard down to $9 million per team right now they're getting $39 million per team so Bowlsby better figure something out.

He is a teammate of Nelson and was a 99% lock a few months ago. There is likely to be another teammate of Nelson commit later this month. USC is tugging on the guy pretty aggressively. OU is sitting at #1 for 2023 at this point. 2 x 5 stars and 2 X 4 stars. Extremely good start.

His 100% hard commit happened today.
Yes... correct but he's been a silent commit for weeks. He's a HS team mate of our latest QB commit. The SEC might garner a few other players but this one was silently in the mix already.

I'll go out on a limb here and predict (2) more 5 star recruits for 2023 and it'll have nothing to do w/ the SEC move.
