I know it gained some critical acclaim but I don't recall it being a box office success, but anytime Little Miss Sunshine comes on I end up watching it.

I know Shawshank is probably the one movie that is on most lists but what are some other movies you all will end up watching if you ever see it on?

The Greatest Showman..

Wife and kids wanted to watch, so I agreed. Would watch again. And probably will 1000 times since my kids love the soundtrack.

Shawshank is one of the best movies ever.

Little Miss Sunshine was very good, too!

To add to others:
Revenge of the Nerds: should have won every damn Oscar that year!
Spy Game
Big Trouble in Little China
Remo Williams
Dazed and Confused

I'll add others as I think of them...

Movie I went to with no expectations. My son and I were bored one afternoon. Went to see Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise. Figured it would suck. We both loved it. I have probably watched it 5 times since then.

Another one for me, although I'm sure it was a big deal for quite a few people, was Iron Man. I'm not a comics guy so honestly, I had no idea who Tony Stark was or Iron Man. That's still one of my favorite movies.

1st Jack Reacher movie is a one as well.

Usual Suspects belongs on the list for sure. Never got a lot of fanfare initially, but is probably on my top 10 of all time

One of my all time favorites. Saw it in the theater. Didn't know what to expect, but had heard it was fantastic before I bought my ticket, so it doesn't quite qualify for me.

I was in the same place with Iron Man since I'm not a comic book guy either and I had never really heard of the character.

For me, Iron Man is what got me interested in the Marvell movies. Captain America is what set the hook. Both exceeded my expectations.

August Rush: not my genre of movie, but it was great.

Three movies from my HS or college
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure: can’t wait for the 3rd version
Highlander: if you are my age, it is probably is near the top of your favorite movies
The Philadelphia Experiment: I still love time travel shows

And agree that Shawshank Redemption and Usual Suspects are fantastic. And love Braveheart.

Here’s one that just came to me...

Star Wars: A New Hope.

Certainly didn’t have my bar set anywhere close to where that film sent me as a kid.

Hudson Hawk starring Bruce Willis.

I am not even kidding. I love that movie, and it is on many critics’ list of worst movies.

Forest Gump for me. I was at the age I didn’t want to see anything my parents wanted to see so I bitched about getting over ridden on whatever my choice was. I was blown away. It is a modern epic.
