Didn’t take long for the PSU trolls to make it over from rivals.Sorry, wrong thread
I just saw the same thing and checked over here to see if there was any news.Just read Gabe Arnold has been dismissed from the team - Not joking
Uhhhh - Care to elaborate? With a message regarding Bo and how I am glad to support a team that stands on principle, a certain coach responded, BOOM. I take that to mean good things are coming
Yeah, let us know when you see one.Didn’t take long for the PSU trolls to make it over from rivals.
Wait, why am I posting as Anon175####### ??Sorry to see him go, have always been a fan of him and his family, wish them nothing but the best.

I entered a user name. Why is that not showing up?
Be careful trying to set up your SN...Ok wait, can I bring my username/account from previous board over here? I see a lot of familiar names.
Lol, seriously, when I pull up my account profile it doesn't give me the option of using my username. WTF?Be careful trying to set up your SN...

Usernames were supposed to get portaled over here tonight/tomorrow I recall, but if not, just set up a new account tomorrow with your old username and ignore your anon account.Lol, seriously, when I pull up my account profile it doesn't give me the option of using my username. WTF?
He was the last recruit I thought this would happen to coming out of high school. Now what at 174 after this year? More 1 year rentals I guess?Yea, used have this term in the military called "Failure to adapt." It was a catch all phrase that usually combined different behaviors that all added up Didn't necessarily make the individual bad, they just had some growing up to do but were incompatible with the organization at that time.
Let's face it, some of these kids are getting paid very good $$ but are not living up to minimal standards. I don't know if this is Gabe or not. But $$ changes the game in terms of expectations.
Who knows if that will ever become much more public. The Iowa coaching staff really doesn't talk about this kind of stuff, but maybe Gabe will eventually discuss it.This is quite a shock and does not bode well for the program. Waiting to learn the reasons why.
Anthony Robles won conference titles and a national Championship with only 1 leg - but - because Gabe may be a couple of inches shorter than a typical 174 or 184 pounder you are anointing him hopeless to ever be an All American? UH.... ok, whatever... We just learned a lot about your intelligence...Gabe is a midget and was never gonna AA at 174 or 184
Obvious troll was obvious...there will be a period where we have to do some gardening here and weed out the trolls and garbage posters.Anthony Robles won conference titles and a national Championship with only 1 leg - but - because Gabe may be a couple of inches shorter than a typical 174 or 184 pounder you are anointing him hopeless to ever be an All American? Say you're stupid without actually saying it.Gabe is a midget and was never gonna AA at 174 or 184
This has been the case for a while now, but with the lax transfer rules it is even more imperative. Counting on having a guy for their 5th year is stupid. If they’re the best guy at the weight, you wrestle them.Good luck to Gabe and hope he crushes it wherever he goes next.
My takeaway from this is wrestle them while you got them. Could have started at 184 his true freshman year if he wanted to (which might not have been the case here).
If you look at his handle, there shouldn't be any questions about his intelligence.Anthony Robles won conference titles and a national Championship with only 1 leg - but - because Gabe may be a couple of inches shorter than a typical 174 or 184 pounder you are anointing him hopeless to ever be an All American? Sounds like he’s looking for a new program to wrestle at. Maybe he can go jc route like jarrel miller, so that time won’t count against him.I think this bodes very well for Iowa and the Brands brothers. They see a wrestler that is struggling emotionally and personally — they make him leave the wrestling behind in order to concentrate on himself and his issues (and not wrestling). This is what a coach is there for — to help these men be the best they can be.
For those trying to equate this to some bigger problem— well, it it not. It is the coaches handling a situation BEFORE it becomes a bigger problem or the worst problem one can think of.
Iowa is doing what PSU did not do. Fix a problem before it became too late.
Bravo to Tom and the staff. If Gabe gets his affairs in order, no doubt he will be welcomed back. I know this to be 100% true.
And then return to the Hawks.Sounds like he’s looking for a new program to wrestle at. Maybe he can go jc route like jarrel miller, so that time won’t count against him.
