Thanks for all the updates, guys.

OG once again didn't look real impressive but got the win. West Meck shot themselves in the foot all night, but OG's defense was strong also. West Meck got one of their TD's on a short field from a blocked punt.

West Meck stacked the box and brought pressure all night, and for the most part it worked.

Crest will be a formidable opponent next week. I'm not sure how I feel about that one, but I hope OG can do what they have been doing all year and just figure out a way to win.

North had offense but couldn't stop anyone with a pulse this year on D. That's basically what the season boils down to.

Time will tell on the JVs. They finished with a winning conference record and almost beat Davie and MC. The record may be deceiving. In the meantime go OG and Tville

Slightly off-topic but Asheboro's looking for a new head coach. It'll be interesting to see who shows interest. Not sure Nick Saban could win there at the moment.

Graveyard of coaches. Who is the last coach with an overall winning record?

Both crest/OG and Ledford/NWC are good matchups. I have Crest by 3 and Ledford by 3.
Even though OG is the higher seed, Ledford has had better match ups.

Asheboro has had some really good coaches and it just seems like success is hard to get there. They have big kids, speed and athletes but cannot put it together.
You got that right. There are several athletes on asheboro’s team that you could build some success around. It sucks to be looking for a coach, but in this case, it’s probably a blessing

Aboro looks for a new coach every 1-3 years lately. They and Lexington are very similar in this regard

I will take Ledford in this game. NW plays in a very weak conference.

If I had to guess, it would be Sam Whitley (mid 2000's). Whitley was the coach who ended Asheboro's 15 year losing streak against ER.

Owen George may have had a winning record (mid 2010's). Not sure about that one.

Thanks Chute. Wonder how long either stayed. I’m definitely not an expert on Asheboro over the last thirty years, but find it a little telling that I’ve never heard of either.

Neither stayed very long. After his last year, Whitley moved to Texas. I'm not sure if he continued to coach or not.

Owen George was an assistant on the Asheboro staff before he got hired. He coached for a few years and then, I believe, went into administration.
