To help them win a national title. It won't work, but it's nice to have that potential money. He didn't even go to ECU. Just from Greenville, NC.

Any billionaires out from the Columbia???

🤣 Probably so, and I wouldn't blame them. I'm not going to tell a guy how to spend his money, but it is a remarkable statement about our priorities. According to Google, the average ECU graduate leaves there with about $22K of FSL debt and about 13% of those carry additional private debt. And I'm sure the vast majority of them would cheer the announcement that a billionaire has donated $100m to pay the football players. Somebody make this make sense!

Nobody is interested in placating the regular students. In the same sense, I had a UPC fan say to me one time, "I don't go up there to watch 'em graduate...I go up there to watch 'em win ballgames."
