Any predictions for the finale? Pretty obvious that Elliot and Tyrell team up to take down E Corp, no? What really has me hyped is this quote from the director...

Esmail started writing "Mr. Robot" as a feature film, but turned it into a television show when the project got too long and unwieldy. And so for all the mold-breaking hacking scenes and drama we've seen so far, Season 1, in the showrunner's eyes, is basically exposition.

"I don’t even consider what we’re doing this season to be that huge. It was just the setup for the real story which really begins next season, which would have been Act 2 of our film," he said.

Fans can expect more focus on the relationship between Elliot and Mr. Robot, he explained. We'll see Elliot's mental health issues slowly made clear, too. And more of this season's most underrated character: E Corp suit Tyrell Wellick's wife, Joanna, a classic "old-school Lady Macbeth" type, Esmail said.

Watching them again. This time paying more attention to any/all interactions with Slater's character and everyone not named Elliot.

Very little interactions with Robot and others. I noticed that early on. As for the finale I'm stumped. No idea where it goes.

Just rewatched the entire season. Turns out I was confused because I was watching on demand and somehow missed all of episode 2 [laughing]

The episodes are labeled 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 etc. I watched on demand and went from 1.0 to 1.2 thinking that it was the second episode. Oops.

There has been a lot of steam so far, and love the show, especially the details with the hacking. The first scene where he is calling out the pedo's tor network and onion protocol. Good on so many levels.

Makes me wonder where they have to take it.

I love how just when you think you have this show figured it, it pulls you in a completely different direction.

so elliot is also tyrell?
Evil Corp CEO Price hired Angela because he knows she's close with elliot?
Whiterose, wtf?

Yes seriously on those spoilers, also:

Who was knocking at the door? Was it even a real person?
Who is the man behind the mask? Is it Elliot? Is it Tyrell because Tyrell is actually a real person? Is it Elliott because Tyrell is another hallucination?
Is anything real??

after the interaction I think it's fairly obvious tyrell is also a figment of elliots psychosis. Would explain the scene with them at the mountain data center.

I think Tyrell is real. There's too many scenes with Tyrell's wife.

Incredible.

One of the best summer shows I think I've ever watched.

Not sure where to put it on my Top 10 list, but it's on there.

Can't wait to rewatch and catch the stuff I missed.

Tyrell has to be real, his secretary didn't seem to act weird that Elliot was asking about him. But then again how TF did he just get into the building like that?

Just absolutely unreal TV. I can see why they postponed it a week.

No, I do not think Tyrell is a figment of Elliot's imagination. I think he is real and will play a huge part, along with his wife, in season 2.

No. Tyrell has to be real.

I think so too, but then again, the shows writers are still ahead of us for now. Just pointing out possibilities.

I read an article that says some of the hacks they do are from famous hackers. The mask is homage to Anonymous, which is a group of hackers who wear:

They have been around for a decade at least and hacked the Baltimore Police Dept. Anonymous has hacked multiple governments and a security firm (like Elliots). "You brought this upon yourself. You've tried to bite at the Anonymous hand, and now the Anonymous hand is *****-slapping you in the face."

They also did the Sony leaks and BOA hacks.

Lizard Squad made some attention last year by DDOS attack which is DOS (Denial of Service Attack). Basically, overloads the servers with traffic to crash them. This is how they planted the program into E corps service. Lizard Squad shut down Sony Playstation for a few months.

There was a cool hacker war back in November against Lizard Squad and Anonymous. Basically, Anonymous won, and got all the Lizard Squad arrested. They even have a few "hacker" reporters that are fun to follow on twitter.

Esmail has said previously that Tyrell and his wife, especially the wife, will be a big part of season 2.
Yes, supposedly Joanna (Tyrell's wife) plays a character similar to Lady Macbeth, according to Esmail. Expect to see them a lot in season 2.

Scenes that lead me to think Tyrell isn't real:

1. The way Joanna reacted to Elliott in the finale.
2. The Mountain server sequence.
3. Mr. Robot/Tyrell meeting

Scenes that don't

1.Gideon had several direct interactions with Tyrell. Although Mr. Robot had a few interactions with characters, nothing overlapped, with Gideon and Tyrell that would be tough.
2.Elliott asking about him at the office during the collapse.

Pretty rare for a show to captivate me every single episode.

Fair points. But when Elliot went to E Corp looking for Tyrell and asked his assistant, wouldn't she of noticed him as Tyrell if they were the same person?

I listed that. It's also hard to determine what is actually happening and what is his imagination. The big factor for me reflecting back today is the Gideon interactions with Tyrell.

Just leaving him physically out of the finale is crazy. The Mr. Robot/Dad stuff was easy to pick up and I'm sure he intended that way.

Yeah. There is no doubt in my mind that Tyrell and wife will play huge roles next season. I think it will really dive in the the relationship between Elliot and Tyrell.

Also, towards the end when Mr. Robot, Elliot, Elliot's mom, and young Elliot were talking in the street, where was young Darlene? She was in the family picture that Elliot had in his apt., wasn't she? Some have implied that Elliot's mom was pregnant with Darlene in the interaction on the street (I would have to go back and watch). But if she was pregnant, that would then mean Elliot is atleast 8-10 years older than Darlene because young elliot was atleast 8-10 years old in the pic/interaction on the street. Did they ever touch on where Elliot's mom is now? Is she dead?

Too many questions.

I honestly thought watching it this morning that she looked pregnant.

OK, thanks.. That means that Elliot has to be much older than Darlene. Now I am questioning the picture in Elliot's room. I thought the pic was of his dad, mom, and sister?

I just figured that young Darlene isn't in his visions because she's still in his life.

FWIW, Rami Malek is 9 years older than Carly Chaikin.
Holy hell. I wouldn't have thought that. He is definitely a cool dude. Didn't know he had an identical twin brother. He was on Kimmel this week...

That's a pretty funny story in that clip. I vaguely remember him from 24.
