81-68. It was tied with 9 mins left. Max Christie was out with Covid but still ... only 13? We beat them by 35, tho it was close at halftime.

Wright, the guy who torched us for 23, had 10 points.

Maybe we steal one on Sunday?

For what it’s worth, after the game Izzo addressed the crowd and said “When we come back [after the new year] we’ll be better. I promise you.”

I think Michigan State was out four players due to COVID when playing High Point, so don't know if their games is a useful tool transitive properties rule case to use between NU and MSU.

We were missing Audige.

The story I read said that Christie and Bingham were out, but who knows, maybe they didn't list the others if that was the case.

I'm not a big transitive properties guy but I'm just saying that many of these historically good teams may not be out of our league this year.

In other news, Michigan lost to UCF by 14 and Wisconsin only beat Illinois St by 4.

Not saying we will win, but many of these teams are beatable.

We are in the hunt. Go Cats!

MSU was missing two starters and two backups when they played High Point.

But NU can be competitive with MSU regardless...NU has a little history of beating MSU, highlighted with it's defeat of the Magic Johnson led Spartans during the 78-79 MSU national championship season.

Michigan is down from being elite but may or may not be competitive enough to be a tourney team. Nebraska looks like a bottom dweller. I sense the jury is still out on a lot of the B1G basketball teams this year as to whether they are Elite, Good, Average or Bad.

Bingham is the best player on MSU...anchor the interior D.
He nd Christie are the best defenders

The ESPN match predictor gives us a 53.2% of winning. Line is MSU by 1.5

Wow, 1.5 seems too low. is MSU still missing players for COVID? They are ranked 10th in the country.

I don’t like that NU hasn’t played in 2 weeks and it’s last real game was almost a month ago. Glad to have an actual game to watch.

Sagain says Michigan State should be favored by about three in Evanston. Vegas sells one and a half

KenPom nets to them favored by 3.4 on a neutral court, so with 2 pt home advantage a spread of -1.5 fits that. Strange coincidence, that is... I wouldn't be surprised if MSU gets bet up a bit from -1.5, but then again the Maryland game spread seemed like it could be tempting and I don't recall that one moving. The modeling things think we are a decent team - I hope we prove them right today!
