How long before Mt Airy attempts to petition to go back to midget gnat league with Tarburah?
Just give us few years i remember a time when we thought we would never beat Thomasville you play us enough it might come back to haunt you how about you shutting up the game is over
You gotta know who to ignore. Every comment comes with an insult. It's insane. 
3A is loaded and no longer in 1A. I am sure they will continue to post big winning seasons, but to win another state title will be a huge task in 3A under this alignment.
I keep telling yall 3A now is like moving to 2A with the numbers. 1A is now a Joke and 2A is like 1A was. Its not that big of a jump. Every school MA played this year was a bigger school and they had #1 sos according to simmons ratings and still went 9-3 and 3rd rd. Shelby is just that good. Farmer is a beast! Score was 41-21 not running clock. MA competed but Shelby was better team. You make a mistake against Shelby and they make you pay. With that being said MA will prob be like 5-5 next season but has a really good group coming.
5-5 next year? They still have Mason, the QB is returning, Hiatt up front, an all-conference receiver, and athletes galore that were underclassman. They lose a ton of seniors, but MA going 5-5 never happens.
Hope im wrong! I dont see MA beating Starmount Jefferson Forrest West Stokes St Stephens and maybe N Surry. Lose alot of experience. I forgot Watauga!

Maybe in 3 years but who knows how MS kids will be when get to V. Next 2 could be down seasons.
Do you see them beating Watauga? West Stokes graduates a lot of Seniors, as does North Surry. I see MA losing to Starmount, Watauga, Jefferson Forest. I think they win the conference again with relative ease.
Mount Airy and Shelby have played twice in their history; they now stand 1-1, with Mount Airy winning the first meeting 36-6.
could say the same for Rosewood HS, and you see their record.

West didn't have many seniors. 2 linebackers were seniors. Backfield sophomore and juniors. Even though no great team in conference should be some close competitive conference games

Thomasville had one of three football players in history to be AP NC Player of the year twice. His career rushing total of over 8100 yards and 106 td’s is not listed. Yet his single season mark of 3304 is listed. We had two other backs with single seasons over 3,000 yards not listed. Quanny Johnson with 3004 (tied for 23rd) and Gabe Brockett with 3500 (third all time). I’m sure there are many more examples, such as Lawson Hodges’ kicking records. Or Allen Brown’s coaching records.
That’s not to take anything away from any of those who are listed. It’s just important to understand how flawed the record book is.
It’s the schools responsibility to submit any record or anything to be listed. I have submitted several things for Starmount over the years.
I understand. Not every school gets that done. Not placing blame, but simply saying that the record list is very incomplete. Just like not every school cares about information on Maxpreps.
The one thing I can say for sure is that, when Allen Brown was head coach and AD at Thomasville, he couldn’t care less about his name being in any record book. His concern was about his players. But even there, the stats or record books weren’t his focus. It was more about trying to be sure they turned into productive adults.
I doubt Thomasville is the only school that fails to prioritize the NCHSAA record book.
Yeah I’m sure you are right! My school didn’t have any record of their games or anything unless it was in the yearbook.
Since I’m a history buff, I researched through the yearbooks, old newspapers and got a lot of data and stats before I came along and kept stats.
I ever wrote a book on SHS Football. It covers from 1967 through 2019. I may do a version 2 in a few years. Lol

Great work Deana. Apparently, the NCHSAA said they would only accept stats through the athletic director. And that’s a long story. But glad you were able to make it work. The kids and the coaches deserve the recognition.
