Can you please validate Mt. Carmel had the option to stay in the CCL-B last year.but took the step to Green? There seems to be some thought there was no choice but to move but I remember multiple threads around this stating they could have stayed in the Blue. Thanks.

They had the option, if they wanted to stay in Blue then PC was next in line for Green.

Wonder if the conference title MC won this year in the Green is considered "legit" by some of the MC faithful. After all, the Green is not the "top" conference in the CCL.

@MC63 direct from the mouth of Frank Lenti:

That said, seeing Mount Carmel leave its traditional rivals is "super strange," Mahoney said. "It's really a perfect storm. They had a rough stretch when we started collecting numbers. I think we all know Mount Carmel is a Blue Division school."

There was a provision to opt into a tougher division, but Mount Carmel accepted the assignment.

"We just happened to be the first team it was offered to," Lenti said. "We said we'll take advantage of the opportunity."

In Mt Carmel’s defense, Lentis decision to move down very likely was another reason for MC getting rid of him.

Curious why they would form four team conferences when there is no automatic qualification for conferences under six teams?

I heard two programs (I don't know which ones) asked Frank Lenti if they could go green instead of MC, but Frank declined.

Frank wanted MC in the green and the rest of MC was furious.

This quote says it all: "We just happened to be the first team it was offered to," Lenti said. "We said we'll take advantage of the opportunity."
