I don't think there will be a coaching change this year. If this continues for one or two more seasons it could very well happen.

There probably should be one. Marshall inherited a dominant program and has seen it regress to a point I would think is unacceptable with the athletes Tabor gets every year.

The new HS opened 10 years ago, that would be Reagan. I doubt it has had little effect on Mt. Tabor. North Forsyth has had the big effect. Not sure that open enrollment has had anything to do with it either. I'm just thinking down couple of years. As it has been said many times, "Coach has not forgotten how to coach".

Mt Tabor was a state program at one time. Not saying anyone gets the hook but lets look at the past 14-15 years

02 14-2 Sapp State Runner up
03 12-2 Sapp
04 12-2 Sapp
05 12-2 Sapp
06 9-4 Stewart
07 12-4 Stewart State Runner up
08 11-2 Marshall
09 10-4 Marshall
10 11-2 Marshall
11 11-2 Marshall
12 7-6 Marshall
13 8-4 Marshall
14 8-5 Marshall
15 5-6 Marshall

So there are the numbers make your own conclusions

Just from what I have heard and observed, Mount Tabor has changed a lot in the past 14 years. And not just in football. The student body has changed. Side note here - I have heard that nearly 50% of the teaching staff has turned over at Mount Tabor in just the past 3 years. That affects athletics too.

The statement "the athletes Tabor gets every year" is naive. Tabor does have some good athletes but outside of D. Deablo, NONE of the other 21 starters would have a hope of starting just 4-5 years ago. The team basically has a JV defense starting this year. They are young and really fast but have no size at all. On the offensive side, out side of East Forsyth, no team has consistently been able to stop them. Breaking in new quarterbacks this year has taken a toll. The other thing is that West Forsyth, North Davidson, and Reagan have gotten a lot better. Combine that with great coaching at the schools mentioned and you have a much stronger CPC. Which actually makes for better football for the fans.

Mount Tabor has taken teams in the area to "wood-shed" for so long that now that they are down a bit teams are eager to return the favor. I remember a few years ago when Reagan beat Tabor for the first time... You would would have thought they had just won the Super Bowl.

Go back to the couple of years before Bob Sapp returned and you have two really bad losing seasons with teams that have much better athletes than Tabor has now. There is no way another coach could come in right now and and do any better than Coach Marshall is doing. In fact, I would predict that would create losing seasons for the next few years. Tabor is young... They will be back. Trust me.
