John Carroll University beat University of Mount Union on Saturday to end Mt. Union's regular season winning streak at 112 games. JCU wins the Ohio Athletic Conference title...the first team other than Mt Union to win it in the past 24 yrs. Congrats to both teams.

Mt Union has lost only two of their last 224 regular season games.

And the Purple Gang will hit the road, beat anyone and everyone in their way and face UW Whitewater in the finals. Again.

FYI UW Platteville is a sleeper...if Pioneers and UW Oshkosh face off again the winner can go a long ways

Mt Union won't make it to the finals, North Central or Mary Hardin Baylor will beat them in the semifinals. Mary Hardin Baylor is the favorite to win it all but if NC can upset them I would love to see them rematch Mt Union in Naperville.

I would guess Whitewater wins the other bracket but it will be tough to beat Oshkosh or Platteville twice.

You are all overlooking the Blue Streaks from JCU.....I would think with this win, they are the team to beat.

Some GREAT match ups in the D3 brackets. The Tommies will likely face either Oshkosh or Platteville in round 3 (at UST), then Whitewater. A MIAC or WIAC team almost seems certain to make the finals this year, but I wouldn't say Whitewater is a lock.

On the other side, North Central will likely travel to #1 Mary Hardin Baylor, with the winner of that then hosting likely Mount Union. For how Mount stumbled at the end of the season, losing their last game, the committee sure gave them a fairly easy path to the semifinals via the East bracket. The offset to that I suppose is they'll have to go on the road for all their games, something that hasn't happened in probably 12+ years.

Best first round match up is Platteville at St John's, in cold and windy conditions. The winner of that game will tell a lot about how the MIAC and WIAC stack up against each other.
