14-7, MC up at the half.

This broadcast has had audio problems, but those are mostly intermittent and not too distracting. What is distracting, though, is the intrusive red and white banner at the bottom of the screen. Obnoxious as well as unnecessary, it obscures about 20 percent of the field, depending on the angle.

There are two feeds - I’m enjoying the student announcers. They’re doing great.

Heard Marist is just giving this game away. All MC points off of turnovers
First touchdown was off a Marist fumble on a punt return, leaving Carmel with a very short field. Late in the third quarter, Marist running back went 60+ yards and when he was inside the 10, he was stripped while spinning - Carmel ball. Then Dontrell Jackson was strip sacked mid way through the fourth quarter and taken to the house for a Carmel TD.

Win is a win, but the Football Gods shined on MC tonight which is a good thing because the refs sure as hell didn't....and check all my posts I don't think I've ever pointed my finger at the refs because I've been a ref years ago and I know how it is, but Dear Lord.

That being said, we had the ball bounce our way a couple times tonight, but a good win on the road against a quality opponent. It was a must win for Marist and they had the Homecoming Crowd behind them.

Kenenna Odeluga for MC is a stud. Jackson for Marist played the whole game at QB. Made some real nice plays but made some big mistakes too......Soph QB starting a big game vs. a good D thats gonna happen. He will keep getting better.

Welcome to Marist. Opposing teams always get called for tons of penalties.

We’re you at the game? Running back was down on that game changing fumble call. The wave off of intentional grounding and all the defensive holding. But, I will say the better team won. Ric Flair “to be the man you got to beat the man”

I was surprised to see Marist stay this close sound like turnovers were a big difference maker in winning this game or not. While MC faced alot of penaltys they were also given a gift by the refs when the game was on the line late with that fumble call. Clearly was down. With that being said Good Luck to MC rest of the way, and for Marist well they need a Monster upset over either NAZ (who they seem to own over the years), or LA.

Not surprised by MC margins of victory the last 4 games: 7,3, 6, 7. 14 juniors/soph start and have others rotate in and 2 other juniors have spot started. Expect a 1 score game vs Rice to week 9.

Seems like MC caught LA at the right time too. They were still unsettled at the QB position. The LA I watched on Saturday against Rice looked really good with the current QB. They seem to be coming together at the right time. And their RB, Pemberton, is a stud. Not sure if they were rotating RB's earlier in the year, but that kid got almost all of the carries on Saturday, and rightly so.

I thought Marist has looked very good from what I've seen. They've lost 3 games by 1 score. And I've seen the offense move up and down the field in those losses only to have a Turnover late in the drive. I think a lot of "good" teams would love to NND, MtC and BR

From what I've seen, I'd say Marist has one of their better defenses of late. The offense is not up to their usual standard. They don't seem to have the playmakers they normally have (especially after the transfer loss), and the QB position is unsettled. I read where Jackson played the whole game at QB against MC, though.

After seeing Jackson play against Carmel, the QB situation should be completely settled.

I got a great photo of the fumble as I was curious of it as well. I assure you the ball was out before the knee was down. It was very close but if the challenge flag and review existed, the call would be upheld, it was a turnover. It was a great run though, the spin move killed it, MC never gave up pursuit. Great game and atmosphere for sure

I don’t know...16-32 for 160 with an INT, fumble that was returned for a TD and sacked 4 times...Bright future absolutely but he may be better fit as another receiving weapon. Losing Jadon Thompson really was a blow to this offense, they need his athleticism as a receiver to help Markett who I thought they didn’t get the ball too enough in the game, he’s a good talent.

Yeah it was a three way rotation with Cabanban (great name) Flores and Pemberton. Flores did really well vs MC. BR was missing their best LB and Warren was still suspended so I had a feeling LA would take advantage of the run and they did.

Agree on Pemberton. He is a load, Rice had no answer for him

Also no complaints when we played Maine S!

Maldonado (Soph) got some carries too. Very quick. I think he was the young man who fumbled on the goal line. I felt so bad for him. He will be a stud.

I think they are a better team with the other QB. That allows the Soph QB to play receiver and thus another playmaker.

They didn't look very dangerous against Rice with Markett. But as soon as Jackson came in, they marched. He has a ton of a ability and he's only a sophomore. He's going to be really really good.

Interesting take. I’m going MC-13 against Rice, and that’s being conservative after the score Saturday. MC didn’t play its best game Friday, but they did against Loyola. Rice didn’t play too hot against Marist, either.

Next year will be his breakout year.
