1969 marks the 50th Anniversary our our REAL FIRST RISE to power, and it kind of got a huge push in our bowl game that year(December 1969)...the queries:
-What was the Bowl? (kind of second rate)
-who was our SEC opponent and what was the score?
-our kicker had a field day...who was it, and why was it a special day
-in spite of the lopsided score, we threw one touchdown pass...who threw it?

Enough for now...

Sun Bowl, Georgia, NU won 45-6 - I think.

Paul Rogers the kicker? Was that when he made his 55-yarder?

I really have to disagree with you on Real First Rise to Power..

Nebraska winning the conference for the first since 1941 and winning their first Orange Bowl In 1963 and after that winning the conference in 64 and 65 and playing Alabama for the National Title in the 1966 Orange Bowl was the start of Real First Rise to Power..

6-4 in both 67 and 68, followed by national titles in 70 and 71...if you compare the early Devaney years(very good) with the last ones, no comparison...I stand by my statement:)

Guessing either Van Bronson or J Tagge on the pass. Would agree with previous post, hard to discount the early to mid 60s seasons. But your point that this was the real building block team is probably valid. And I do believe this was T.O.s first year as O.C., so there is that arguing point too

Only his senior year, had injuries because he didn't take care of his body well enough. Drank a lot and wasn't a workout junky as I was told, but did play alot soph and junior years.
