Wouldn’t be shocked if we had a hung jury.Much of the evidence is circumstantial.I’m interested in the gov’ts theory on how exactly the murders occurred and also I want to see how the defense explains why Alex obviously lied about his alibi if he is innocent.

This is one that I hope airs on TV. One would have to take a few weeks off to watch it all. Which I can’t do. But, can’t wait.

It will be on TV. I already know it's going to be a media circus such as we haven't seen around this area in a very long time.
Harpootlian has already cast much doubt on the validity of that test
He's going to get off serious charges on a legal technicality. He will spend time in some type of confinement. His reputation will always follow him. The circumstances this has brought forward for his family's multi-generational powerful law firm and so many people are an unfortunate part of history from now on.

I don't believe he wouldn't get life with all of the fraud charges.

Rumor is, some well placed folks have yet to be exposed who have some involvement in Murdaugh's shenanigans who are hoping for an Epstein outcome. Fraud charges seem pretty solid for conviction.

This. This situation probably goes all the way to washington. Most likely grahams, clintons, obamas, bidens and more.

Even though I think Alex is a not so bright piece of crap crook. I don't think he is so sinister that he could personally shoot and kill his own wife and child. Now I do think he could have paid some thug to kill both of them and in his warped reasoning feel that the blood would not be on his hands.

I think Alex will be convicted of the fraud charges and probably get prison time. The worst punishment for him will be having to live the life he is going to live from now on compared to the life he led before. He lived like royalty in his own little fiefdom where he controlled most things around him and had basically unlimited funds to do as he pleased. When he gets out of prison he will be broke, he will never be able to practice law again and he will be a convicted felon so his options for employment will be severely limited. Unless he has managed to hide a large sum of money somewhere, and the clumsy nature of his crimes doesn't lead me to believe he is some sort of evil genius, he is going to live a life of meager existence when he gets out of prison.

Alex is 64 yrs old and not in great shape, spending 10 years in prison might be a life sentence for him.

If he gets off on the murder charges, I understand that the embezzlement , fraud, etc. charges will stick and put him in prison for a lot more than 10 years.

I think the general consensus is that he was there although he didn't pull the trigger. I seem to recall something about the blood splatter confirming that (think Marty and Wendy when Navarro had Helen killed), and that is why DH wants it thrown out because it blows up his alibi that he wasn't there.

Whether he was there are not I would think that the state might have a tough time painting the picture of AM carrying two guns ( Shotgun and Rifle ) shooting son with one and the wife with the other.

Part of our murder statute in SC includes charging someone with murder if they direct someone to kill another. I'll be honest, I haven't pulled the charging documents, so I haven't seen which subsections are attached.

Again, two questions I am interested in.How the state says the actual murder went down..i.e. 2 guns etc and how the defense explains Alex's alibi which has been blown to smithereens by phone evidence.....
My prediction.....Hung Jury

One thing is for certain. It will more than likely be streamed in every office here starting next week.

From what I've read my pre-trial belief is that Alex lured his wife (who was separated and living at Edisto house) back to the farm to have her killed and Paul unexpectedly stopped by there to check on a friend's dogs and ended up being collateral damage.

Alex will be found guilty of murdering his wife and son because that is how the law works. He is a piece of chit for killing those 2 over the greed of money. I can only hope they execute him in the public streets of Hampton and do so in a slow and methodical way so he experiences all the pain possible.

Proving murder "beyond a shadow of a doubt" will be VERY difficult, if not impossible.
However, proving the fraud won't be.
Sentencing will ensure this unhealthy fat ******* will die in prison (probably voluntarily).
It's a sad story of the end of an influential lowcountry family. His father and grandfather would be disappointed and ashamed.
His son Buster, will escape with what's left of the family fortune (if anything) and should probably move away to another state to start over.

We're likely looking at a Al Capone situation.....Couldn't prove the murders so go maximum sentencing on the financial crimes. At least I hope they will. This is where politics come into play..

Cracker Barrell at Exit 53 gonna be making a killing since the hotels are all right there.

And dammit - the world is going to find out about Dukes. We don't need our secret getting out.
Yep, BBQ and a buffet to boot. They will not want to leave. The local pigs are worried as the rumors are spreading of a slaughter on the horizon.
