Those were decent Asheville teams so yeah I was shocked but they were nothing like most of the teams Asheville had over the years up until a few seasons ago. That being said this year's Tarboro team is the real deal and no way no matter what is Murphy beating them. I do admire your loyalty to your team though nole

That's a flat out lie. The '02 Asheville team was A LOT better than "decent" that was one of Asheville's best teams. The only two games Asheville lost besides the Murphy game was a one point loss to 4A state champ AC Reynolds and a three point loss in the 3AA regional finals to 3AA champ Ashbrook. That Asheville team went undefeated in conference and beat an undefeated Crest team in the 3rd round of the playoffs.

The Murphy pass defense certainly wasn't dominate tonight, but credit to Rosman. Also tough when your best DB isn't out there and in turn have two freshman starting in your secondary.
I agree assuming #2 can get back to 100% and play on defense again this year, but that's a question I do not know the answer to.

Credit to Tarboro for what they're doing but the SMC is proven as one of the best in the state and the Coastal Plains might be the worst 1A conference in the state. I think we'll get a better picture come playoff time.
Murphy scrimmages Asheville pretty much every year, I dont know why they havent played more regular season games.

Murphy has proven to have a winning tradition over the years. Their kids, coaches, and community believe and expect to compete. That's why they would have a chance.
