They always pick against the SMC . However, Simmons who is about 85% accurate will also have Mitchell and TJ favored
I really dont ever consider Murphy, Robbinsville, or Swain the underdog. Unless they are playing each other.

Im not seeing where Jim has Mitchell picked. Im reading he has Murphy picked in a close one.

Carolina Varsity is a Charlotte centric site, and thus really only know 3A and 4A football. Jim might know a little about 1A football but the rest don't have a clue.
Honestly if I were a sports writer making picks and of course I haven't seen the teams in person and going by stats, scores, school history, coaching I don't see how you couldn't pick Murphy I'm a little surprised that Jim even called it close looking at it from a distance. I be very surprised if Asheville citizens times doesn't pick Murphy tomorrow. If Jim is correct Murphy will be the only mtn team left. He has TJ over Rville because of home field advantage..Starmont over Polk by TD.. Weatmore to edge out Brevard and Reidsville over MTN heritage by 2 TDs.
I don't know he called all the others TD or less even possible OT in the TJ - Rville ( and actually I believe Rville will win that game) and he might be right but I dont think it will the cake walk for Reidsville that everyone seems to think. The pit is a hard place to play and they didnt beat Owen any worst then MH or Mitchell.
Honestly the biggest advantage I see to playing in ledger is I don't have to ride 3 hours both ways to Murphy. Mitchell's home really doesn't have a reputation of playing at that Murphy or the pit in Yancey county has as MC Mountie said our 2 loses came at home. Mitchell actually has played some of their best games away and part of that might be is that they always feel supported by the county because Mitchell fans travel very well many times out numbering the home team side. And no is really not expecting Murphy not to be ready and hope you bring as many fans as Mitchell did too Murphy two years ago.
Most of the time especially if it's a lopsided score. But I have seen games especially some close ones that I do put the lost on the coaches. If you have two equally talented teams and the coaches are calling the wrong plays and not taking advantage of the other teams weakness and your team strengths and using not thier talent at it's fullest potential then the players can only do thier best with the play that's called. And if it's the wrong match up that's not working but that play gets called over and over while the right match up that has worked only gets called once or twice then yeah I'm putting that on the coaching.

There is Mexican restaurant on lower street spruce pine. There is Chinese buffet , Western sizzlin, a small sea food place, Boone's pizza in grassy creek area in Spruce pine. There is the usual fast food places. Pizza hut , McDonald's, burger king , Hardee's. They cooked 15 pork butts at last week's game but not was a big Cherokee group but considering the weather understandable. But they probably do the same for this game.

Yes i have , both good teams mitchell will have to play their A game to win, any less they will lose.
I'm just being realistic both teams have 2 common opponents they both beat Franklin by 21 and both teams struggled with Cherokee in the first half and Murphy has not blew out any good team they have played this year I just don't think Murphy is as dominant as most years .I may be wrong ,I was really surprised last year when Mitchell let Cherokee come in there and win like they did..
Bro you are wrong murphy defense is one of ther best. Honestly only reason i pick mit it just feels like their year. Someone besides mitchell quarterback will have to have big game. Murphy will stop the quarterback

Oh ok bud. Just wondering how you came to the conclusion that Mitchell "has more talent" than Murphy. I have not seen Mitchell play in person, only watched a little film. So I wont say too much since it's hard to get a real feal for it by only watching film. But I will be very interested in hearing your opinion on that topic after the game tomorrow night.
