Murphy needs a game

probably because they're 0-15 against Murphy since 1990 and the game is rarely competitive

You should contact Erwin. I know they are being dropped off the schedule by numerous teams. It would be good to see a good 3A and 1A team go at it
We should still be pretty good next season, return 5 starters on offense and 5 starters on defense, will just depend on how the young skill positions players progress.. namely Davis, Posey, Lampman, Carter, Morrow and Hampton.
2016 should be a special season though...

yep me too, don't want to get ahead of ourselves though because us fans saw this year (and 2000/2001) that a couple of injuries to key guys can really decimate a 1A team.
On a side note if the news I got last night comes to pass, next year's team wil be better than any of us previously thought. I'm going to keep the info on the dl out of respect for the person who told me, until it's official, but needless to say it would make the loss of some of our skill guys to graduation a lot less painful...

That is the kiss of death. That is all I heard about this year's dogs the last couple of years and the injury bug takes over. Just say we will be ok or we should be decent. Dang it man! Well, there is all that. I hate to see old SMC teams not playing though. I guess Smoky better stick to Andrews if they want a win over a Cherokee County team.

Dont think anyone thinks you should count kids from another school. H.D. kids should not be able to play football for Murphy though. And I remember at the beginning of this season you guys had 3 or 4 transfers and some from out of state. Now it sounds like you are getting more, if that is what mbdfan is saying. In the last 3 years we have not had a transfer playing sports. about 4 years ago #9 Brown moved here with his mom and has started for us. He is now a senior. Just how do you keep getting these guys?
Good gracious Murphy has had what, 2 local transfers in over 20 years that were impact players? 99,99% of Murphy's good players the last 30 years were HOME GROWN or moved in from HUNDREDS of miles away. If anyone can name an impact type transfer from local ,surrounding schools the last 20 years other than Matt Neal and Tyler Wiley then put a name out here. Nobody probably will because those names are like Bigfoot, they don't exist except in some people's imagination......

Don't tell me, another Robbinsville poster making baseless accusations against Murphy, unfortunately that's par for the course over there it seems. Of the three transfers Murphy had this season, one of them ALREADY lived in Murphy's district but went to Hayesville because his parents taught school there and the other two moved to Cherokee County, one of them from out of state and the other one out of county. The two other new kids that played this season were already at Murphy and had always lived in Murphy.

AND I apologized for giving out the wrong player number and to the player whose number I got wrong. I've been over that once already with BK...
But unless/until knight-of-old (and a few others) apologize for accusing Murphy of recruiting it's not apples to apples, is it?

I was just pointing out that it take a lot of gall to chastise people from Robbinsville as a whole, for "baseless accusations", while bringing up that its "par"...while you yourself was guilty of the worst case of baseless accusations this past season.
I never intended for my post to encompass all of Robbinsville posters, clearly people like BlackCat93, gogodog and a few others have always exhibited class on these boards and I have a lot of respect for them. I myself was one of the first people to congratulate the Knights on their state title Saturday and I genuinely meant it.
But there are multiple posters from Robbinsville for whom I don't have any respect for and I'm not even talking about BK, he's far from the worst one. The posters I'm referencing only post here periodically for the most part but they make the same accusations that BK has made in the past and worse.
I was wrong to make it seem that I was speaking on Robbinsville as whole but there are several Robbinsville posters this year that have made accusations and classless statements about Murphy on multiple occasions.

I agree with that Squirrel... Murphy, Swain, Franklin and Smoky should always play each other, always.
lol could be gal, you've got a good reason to be cheering for us though, at least you will be free of that obligation after next season my friend. perhaps 2016 will be injury free after all

Any transfer, even a second string is a help. Look at #9 for robbinsville. I wouldnt thought he would even start at linebacker. Very slim for LB. He was the D player of the game at State this friday and one of our best D players of the year. He has about 10 tackles a game and filled the whole left by spencer.
Rabun Gap would be a step up from Smoky. They are getting better ever season and have some speed. In Bball the Rabun Gap Boys and Girls have beaten Asheville High and both boy and girls haven beat Hayesville this year. You dont beat asheville and Hayesville without have some good players.

Don't lie, I didn't say anything about legit transfers. Though you do live in a county that allows open enrollment and everyone knows the precedent, if a kids really has football talent from Andrews then He goes to Murphy. Remember any of those?
Murphy should have to claim the Kids from Hiwassee Dam Highs School because they are allowed to play football at Murphy and gives Murphy sole access to that talent pool. Did you not have players from Hiwassee Dam on the team this year?
I am saying that Murphy exploits loopholes in the ADM process (I call it dishonest and cheating) and that is the reason Murphy can compete for the SMC Championship every year. If you claimed all the kids from the talent pool you draw from you would have 2A maybe even 3A #'s.
I understand the "Casino" expansion plan If Murphy #s grow sluff off a few more non-athletes to the early college... Problem solved..
I don't know why the NCHSAA turns a blind eye to this and allows Murphy to continue to beat their chest and try to bully smaller schools around. I guess it has something to do with forcing Murphy to travel to schools their own size.

This is why it is hard for ppl to respects robbinsville. You whine. You think if Murphy moves up you will finally have the big giant out of your way so you can go to state four years in a row. It's murphy who oppresses you and takes things from you that "you rightfully deserve" . You win a state champion ship and this is how you act right after it? Ppl from Murphy were even congratulating you (which trust me is like tasting vinegar) and then spit in their face with cheating and infiltrating a state athletic system. The arrogance of claiming that the NCHSAA doesn't see what the individuals from robbinsville "clearly see" is so absurd and incomprehensible. Calling our coach out and degrading him constantly claiming our school system is immoral and outsmarting a state system. Enough is enough. You ask to be treated with respected like swain and Murphy....you win a state championship which is a good step in doing so then you say comments like this totally discrediting any respect from this part mountain. So over seeing the blanent lies and accusations.
