Murphy has close to 300 yards of total offense at the half but only 14 points to show for it thanks to a fumble inside their 10 and a bunch of penalties. The "block in the back" penalty on McCracken's would be TD catch was an especially awful call.

They could learn a lot from the crew we had last week.
When they showed the replay it as a good block and he was completely in front and the guy would have made the tackle if not blocked.
Murphy with 34 yards rushing is crazy ... pinetown has completely sold out to stop the run but the 200+ passing has been the real difference

1 pt or 100, don't make a d#@n, win is a win. Helluva effort by the defense to hold on after losing starting QB to a broken shoulder blade.

I think we will be down a little next year - but we’re returning 3 very good backs, so we will see what happens.
Bottom line is Northside did not have enough talent on offense to overcome all the penalties. That block in the back penalty at the goaline on the first possession was the difference in the game in my opinion. Also missing a wide open pass to the tight end that probably would have gone for six. Congrats to Murphy however though on another ship your defense won the game. A very resilient bunch.

After reading this back over i in no way meant to imply that Murphy wasn't the better team today what i meant to say was Northside had their chances to send this game to OT with a shot at winning based on the turnovers that Murphy had and not to mention losing Rumfelt in the second half but Northside did not have the talent to capitalize on those occurrences. They were better than advertised and played hard but Murphy defense was the equalizer. And needless to say i wish the young man a speedy recovery.
For some reason couldn't watch the ES/ Tarboro game on NFHS don't know what the issue there was. Was hoping to see some of both games but ended up the Murphy game was the one to watch anyway I really thought the other game would be the close one hate the QB got hurt he was having a good day hope he's okay sounded like a bad break glad he's a JR and gets another year and that #3 got to come back and play in the game. I was wondering the same thing. I think I would have been giving him the ball every play in the 2nd half just because of how dangerous he was. I was shocked at how little he got the ball throughout the game.
