Murray State is a really good small school/mid major type program. Murray State should be proud of their tradition.

Murray State is not, and has NEVER been, a threat to UK, or anything even remotely in the same area code of a threat to UK.

If you seriously think otherwise, then you are truly delusional.

And, yes, I believe that at least one reason why UK hasn't played them, despite playing Eastern, Morehead, EKU, etc. is that none of them believed that UK should come & play on their home floor. It's not a coincidence. Its been told by several "in the know" around Lexington over the years....despite what the word is around your parents house.

Good grief you're such an a-hole! I know what it says and simply told you he made a reference to not wanting to play them! Stop being such a condescending jerk.

You guys don't know but use Matt Jones or 'I've heard from people in Lexington' as your source. Nice.

I'm done - go Cats!

People citing Murray State's place in the AP poll as an argument need to remember that opinion polls are pure nonsense. Of course it's easy to vote for a team on a huge win streak when the only raw data being considered is wins and losses.

I have a feeling people are allowing their sentimentality to cloud their judgment. Either schedule harder games or find a new conference.

SEC schools get left out every damn year with better RPI's and SOS' than Murray State. If this happened to be Iona or any other non KY school, everyone would agree that the answer is play a tougher SOS or stop your damn crying.

they're sure lobbying for a spot. I can't say I blame them, although I don't think those things are even given a second thought by the selection committee.

There's actually room, theoretically, for both IU and Murray State to make the field. The BPI has IU at 49 and the Racers at 70. Just 2 spots short if we're really looking for the 68 best teams.
I'll give you IU, but here are a bunch of teams ahead of MSU that are probably not going to get a bid:
Rhode Island, Minnesota, St Mary's, Alabama, SYRACUSE, Richmond, Arizona State, South Carolina, and George Washington. There, 9 teams ahead of them. Trouble is, there may not be enough at-large bids. Strangely, the Racers would be better off if the OVC didn't have an automatic bid. They can't seem to win in Nashville when it counts. Farrell lost the winning rebound, Ed Daniels missed free throws...I hope they at least win the NIT.
