thats basically what stoops said likely inspired by Mitch. What kind of a man apologizes like that? What kind of a coach is this guy? I don't think he is a leader

If Stoops has so much as half a brain cell, he has to know his head coaching career officially went into the grave tonight. There's no way...no way whatsoever that he can hope to recover from this. He has lost the fan base. The recruits are going to go elsewhere. It is over. He is done. Whether it happens this season, after the season or next season, the only variable is how long it takes until he is fired. But the outcome is no longer in doubt at all.

I hope he knows that.

It's gonna get real ugly for him. Up 35-10 and lose. His DC is an absolute joke. UK football just ain't ever gonna happen.

That outlook isn't fair to the program. It could easily happen and the secret isn't hard. Hire a good coach with solid head coaching experience. Pay them and their staff very competitive salaries. I guarantee you'll start seeing UK football 'happen' right in front of your eyes.

Name him right now. Name the coach that will come in here and make that happen. I don't believe it. I don't believe it will ever happen.
Every year there's this hype put out by media homers and some just eat it up. Results brother. Stoops is all talk. All we've heard is once UK gets better facilities it will change everything. Just talk. Ain't changed a thing.

Our best coaches at UK are the ones with head coaching experience. I have said a thousand times that it's hard for a coordinator to come in and fix things. You need someone with true head coaching experience

Money talks. If you pay them enough, they will come. I don't think Kentucky could get an amazing coach, like Urban Meyer. However, I think they could get a good coach. Kentucky is only career ending because of the coaches it picks to run its football program. You'd be amazed at how fast the program would turn around if they'd hire an actual good football coach.

Say what you want, but at the end of the day it was MITCH BARNHART who hired an unproven coordinator for a head coach. We need to get rid of Stoops but what good will it do when Teflon Mitch is handpicking the next coordinator he sees fit to be a head coach in the SEC?

I love your optimism. I just don't see it ever happening. Stoops is in year 4 and his special teams and defense look like a JV high school team. Stoops is lost.

Which is why you don't hire people like Stoops. You hire the people that have good experience at the position.

Perhaps Stoops needs to go, but it isn't going to happen this year and at least not until after next year. How about we try to support the program until then?

I agree but I don't know who that guy is. Based on past and present performances, I don't think there is a good coach who would come here.

Believe it or not, but UK isn't a bad coaching job. It's got the conference, facilities, money and fan support to succeed in the SEC. The UK administration just has to be willing to do what needs done to be successful

Name a UK head coach that left and went on to have a better head coaching somewhere else in the last 40 years. It's a culture at UK. Just the way it is.
Bama will never be really good at basketball. Neither will Tennessee. That's just the way it is as well.

That's the problem, UK hasn't done what it needs to do to be successful in the past 40 years. It's sad.

JMO< we(Tennessee)went after some big name head coaches and struck out, mainly because our program had become a dumpster fire. Our talent had hit rock bottom and good coaches had it better where they were. I don't know how successful Jones is gonna be but he has improved the talent and we are winning a few more games now. My point is your AD and your athletic committee needs to do some home work and get a guy that has had success at a lower level, who's hungry. I may be talking out of my arse but there are some great coaches out there that aren't necessarily BCS head coaches. GOod Luck, except when you play the Vols.

Baylor was much worse than UK and got lucky with Briles.

Shell out 10 million per for the head coach and 3-4 million per coordinator etc etc and you will see coaches jumping through windows to come here.
Flash the green and they will come.

You really think UK will pay 10 million to a head coach? 3-4 million to a coordinator? Ain't no way.
If UK were smart, which they ain't. They should be on the 1st plane to Houston. Instead they will waste this year and next with Stoops. He will talk and talk and talk.

Umm, there is a proven top-20 coach in Petrino whose own father was saying he was desperate to come here. I'm sick and tired of these excuses. What will it take for some of you to realize that the coaches are out there, they might not be as easy to find as a place like Alabama or Georgia, but they are most definitely out there. We just have an AD that lacks creativity and vision. Schools like UofL and WKU have done twice as much with half as much to work with. My God, UofL was playing in the Missouri Valley a couple decades ago and now they've passed up a founding member of the SEC in the nation's most popular sport all because they have an AD with a killer instinct that doesn't make excuses for why he can't win. It's sickening. Absolutely sickening. Especially when they have a proven winner for a head coach that BOTH of our in-state brethren hired before we did. Words cannot describe how inept Mitch is at his job.

How he is making the salary he is at this point is beyond me. Louisville and WKU fans are laughing at us right now while Mitch sips on his Shirley Temple counting his money thinking of olympic sports to invest the millions of dollars the football team brings in.

Remember hearing the same things when Joker was here. Groundhog day...[roll]
This is different and certainly not funny. We didn't have a huge buyout to worry about with Joker. The players deserve our support. Stoops has dug his own grave.
