They don't care about basketball and we don't care about football, so we are even.
That's not true. There are a ton of basketball fans but it mainly picks up steam in January through march in terms of ratings.
Okay, most people in our basketball state care more about our state's sport than football. Basketball is a part of the Kentuckian culture.
Haha it is true..sorry..it picks up "steam" when there is no football to watch, but SEC fans aren't losing sleep when their team loses a Tuesday night basketball game in February
I don't care about SEC fans I am talking about the country in general. Also I don't care that most people prefer a sport thats unpopular world wide, basketball beats football around the world by the way. Basketball is the preferred sport in the bluegrass state.
The rest of the country doesn't even give a crap about CBB until March. I love CBB but this "Kentucky culture" crap loses me when the state doesn't even produce consistent top flight talent in basketball.

Lol Soccer is the most popular sport world wide. And it's not even close. Basketball to the world is like basketball in the SEC...they don't give a crap.
I watch all sports too. I have been following the football team and basketball team for two decades now, I'm 27, but I will face reality. The football team is always going to be bad, after two decades I have learned to accept that. Also ratings wise people start to follow college basketball in January not march.
Basketball is the second most popular sport world wide and it is popular world wide. Stop making crap up.

You obviously weren't paying attention during the Bruce Pearl years...we are in the Top 10 in attendance most every year...I think UT people think a great deal about basketball...especially since we have the best conference record against UK.
You make a lot of personal attacks on these forums. I'm just glad I'm not a football only like you. Knowing that winning is going to happen when UK hits the court makes up for what I have to see on the field.
Which is still really really bad. Then again UK dominates the entire SEC but our expectations go well beyond the conference championship.
However I do thank you for saying that UT fans enjoy basketball too. I am tired of telling the UK football only fans that a lot of people do care about basketball as they don't believe me.
What makes you think I'm a "football only" fan? I just happen to dislike a chunk of our fan base. Truth be known, I'd probably dislike 85 percent of people on CI.
I love key both sports as I post on both boards, but I also know that basketball nationally doesn't hold **** to football. You're making a bigger deal of it than it really is.

If you dislike our fanbase then there are other fan bases to join. However all fan bases have extremist. I don't think anybody cares whether or not someone on the internet likes them or not.
I never said anything about our total fan base. I'm talking CatsIllustrated which is the most "fringe" element.
That's one thing that's nice about this site and that's the pockets on the Paddock (like NOB) where I don't have to read _________ sports takes. I almost like it there better than the Lair or Raftards

I like both sports a lot. But can somebody explain why if nobody likes basketball outside of Ky then why in the wide wide world of sports are there a freaking gazillion college basketball games on TV from now until March???
Content filling and because in the age of the DVR live sporting events are still viewed as a "sure thing" to put eyeballs on advertising...but that's getting more shaky.
To be honest, if my team had beat a team as many times as UT has us, I wouldn't even bother calling. I'd figure the poor bastard had endured enough. Honestly, our program is a damn laughingstock.
