players should get a created 401 or pension for play in college. The numbers are examples, 5-10k as a scholarship player of rev gen sport less for non rev gen sport. This also based on player getting degree. You put 20-40k in 401k for these kids at 20-22 yrs Old will be Worth 1m+by the time they are 65. Better then the very outrageous plan now.

So you think a team that has performed like the Huskers have this year deserve to be paid? Hmmmm...

My proposal is to expand the college football playoff, and give the extra profits from the broadcast rights to the players. That would be a win-win for everyone.

Makes sense. But I think they're wanting instant gratification

So how does this work with 150 players, many are walk-ons? Does each player get paid? That would be incentive to reduce your roster.

Many players need cash now. For laundry and for haircuts.

How about the players get paid their market value instead of people coming up with more ideas to control them and profit off of them?

There has to be some level of fairness and standardization in athletics to maintain competitive balance. Even pro leagues have things like salary caps, drafts, and luxury taxes to promote a level playing field.

So if we're going to turn college football into a professional league, then we better institute a draft and a salary cap. Or just make college football a minor league for the NFL.
