Hey everybody! So, tomorrow we have a pretty interesting slate of games! College Gameday will take place at Louis-- er, sorry guys, I guess the linebeards' game wasn't interesting enough for Gameday, even with dUKe being their opponent. Kansas @ Iowa State. ESPN has just stated that one of the bigger topics for tomorrow will be Kentucky, and our chances of going undefeated this season. So, without further ado, my take on tomorrow's games! (The interesting ones.)
The one that everybody here is worried about the most, UK @ Bama --
As of late, I suppose you could say a lot of UK fans don't have any love for the Bammers (We lost some recruit, can't remember his name right off..), and the Cats seem to enjoy winning games by 49 as opposed to OT's and 2OT's. I doubt they'll come off a win like that, knowing that they've played lackluster for the past couple of games prior to that, well, playing lackluster. I feel like UK wants to come out and show they can fight and win big against tough teams on the road in the SEC.
I think the Harrisons will be big in this game. Ulis is a phenomenal PG, but Levi Randolph is a game changer, and an absurdly athletic one at that. Add in that he is the first unanimous team captain, the leading scorer, the assist leader, and leads steals for Alabama, and you have one tough cookie on your hands. Size may be big here. I would love to be somewhat incorrect, and would enjoy nothing more than seeing Tyler Ulis take his lunch money, but it is yet to be determined. Bammers will throw up a ton of 3's, so we'll need to play some very honest, lockdown perimeter defense.
I have UK by 26 here.
Kentucky - 74
Alabama - 48
Virginia @ Boston College
I mean, Boston College is bad. Really bad. But this will be here for the sake of relevance. BC is 0-3 in ACC play, Virginia is #1 in ACC play right now, and is the favorite to win their conference. Unless BC plays inspired basketball, I see this being a 20 point loss for them. You can never tell about a team that is close to .500 on their W/L record. I'll give BC the benefit of the doubt, and believe they overachieve! They come within 20 (and 10 for that matter).
Boston College - 53
Virginia - 63
Gonzaga @ Loyola Marymount
Just when you thought that a top 3 team wouldn't play a team worse than Boston College tomorrow, out comes Loyola Marymount. This is a team that is not bad, but abysmal, sitting on a 5-13 record (1-5 WCC).
Sometimes in life, we have to do things that aren't fair to us. It can be painful, it can be cruel and unusual, and if could crush your spirit. If you're LMU, this is one of those things.
Gonzaga - 93
Loyola Marymount - 67
Duke @ Louisville
Ah, the game. This is the stage performance that is supposed to imitate the physicality of a real basketball game. Lulzville guards will be slapping, and dook guards will be flopping in every way imaginable. Tyus Jones may end up breaking his tailbone if he does his little leg kick jumper flop as many times as I think he may.
Well, how do I evaluate this game? A stagnant offense against a useless defense. I'll give this advantage to Lulzville. They like to get into the lane, and in the case of dUKe's defense, you could likely find more difficult things to penetrate walking down your nearest highway. That said, none of us win tomorrow.
Louisville - 68
Duke - 61
Kansas @ Iowa State
Kansas has an identity it seems. Something that they've lacked for the better part of the season, occasionally looking completely lost. I don't believe that Hoiball gets it done tomorrow. Kansas' is looking like it will once again be crowned as the Big XII champion again.
Kansas - 74
Iowa State - 71

Sorry Villanova, nobody gives a $%*& about your game. Better luck next week though!
