The right on Kaepernick silently acknowledging racial inequalities, “Cancel Kaepernick and keep politics out of sports. Shut up and play.”

The right on Calipari and his players silently acknowledging racial inequalities, “Cancel Cal and keep politics out of sports. Shut up and play.”

The right on a sports broadcaster making on-air remarks on immigration, “What about his First Amendment rights?”

WildcatBoston doesn’t know Jack **** about El Paso. Because if he did, he’d know about Juarez, Mexico. I doubt he has ever stepped foot there. He is a jankety *** white guy who virtues signals from his comforts. I’ve been to Juarez. It’s a mother effing nightmare. I am lucky I got back into El Paso alive. WildcatBoston doesn’t know ****.

And anyone coming from Juarez through El Paso aren’t good people.
And to add to my post. I wonder if WildcatBoston knows the difference between New Boys town and Old Boys Town In Juarez………..

There is a local crisis that affected the game event. It was a casual 2 second mention and not a political statement.

Telling that it was a political statement to democrats. I wonder why?

Perhaps the "bitching" has more to do with one example finding his entire career in jeopardy, while the other was glorified for his statements?

First, I agree with whoever said that the 1st Amendment doesnt protect you from your employer taking actions against your speech. But it is wildly awkward that a lot of the same people saying this is ok where vehemently against punishing athletes for "political speech" at work on the employers dime. Had they gotten fined, suspended etc I would say turn about is fair play. But this clearly isnt that, one suspended the other side screamed you cant punish them for making their voices heard.

Again, I agree that as long as the gov wasnt involved in the punishing it is not a violation of your rights. But its just weird how private business is or isnt allowed to act on employees free speech depending on what side the speech is against.

I support the announcers right to say what he said. I support the employers decision to suspend him. I support announcers rights to support "woke" causes. I support their employers right to suspend them if they see fit. I support players rights to kneel during the anthem. I support their teams rights to suspend them if they believe it reflects poorly on them. I don't have to agree or disagree with WHAT someone is saying to support the right of their employer to discipline them and or release them if they believe it reflects poorly on them.

Regarding cancel culture, it's difficult to cancel someone if you don't have the numbers or support to do so. Much of what people are calling cancel culture now is simply being held accountable for actions many find unacceptable. However, what I personally find unacceptable and what the majority of people find unacceptable may differ. That's called sometimes being in the minority on an issue.

This is not an organic societal change where ideas have undergone public reasoning and debate to naturally gain majority rejection or support. It's not even clear that there is majority support.

Leftist radicals supported by government agencies have forced this diseased ideology upon us all via their MSM and social media. Read the Twitter files.

So this isn't political? It was absolutely political. I think we should let more people in this country to fix our lack of labor. You think we should exclude people from coming in to our country so they don't get the benefits that we have. And I'm far from a woke idiot. I'm 86 years old and have lived through generations of people complaining. What has happened now is that everyone only agrees with what they agree with. No debate. You either are on my side are you aren't. Ronald Reagan was the great compromiser. Why can't there be compromise now? Because you are right? Because I am right? With over 325 million people in this country, we are going to disagree. You are not right, I am not right. The answer is somewhere in the middle with a compromise. I dislike hypocrites that only find issues with those they disagree with. So, football announcers should not be commenting on these issues no more that Lebron should.

It's political for you obviously. He said something like "illegal aliens are here". The city was/is overwhelmed with the sheer number. That's a simple non-political statement of reality.

It's a PC problem for you, not me. I don't play deceptive word games to hide my political agendas and then get offended when somebody mentions it. That's childish.

We have a legal process for immigration and it's not just letting thousands of completely unvetted people flood in. But that's not the point.

You continue to politicize this. There have been people coming to this country since it was founded. So, crossing the boarder, seeking asylum, automatically makes you illegal in your eyes. That is a political take on the situation. Don Corleone came here without a visa, was he "illegal"?

You don't understand the legal process or you wouldn't be saying what you are saying. Sure, you can get a visa to come here, for school or work. But we also have laws that allow people to come here for asylum to flee countries that are killing them. Do you think that if you were living in another country and your government wanted to kill you because you thought about freedom the way we do in the USA, that we should not allow you to come here and build a future for you and your family?

Congratulations. You've managed to deflect from the thread topic to now attempting justify flooding and destabilizing the country with illegals. And you're not being intellectually honest.

Very few of the millions entering illegally qualify for asylum, so that is laughable. Even fewer have asylum claims processed since Biden is intentionally overwhelming the capacity of detention centers. Hardly any found non-qualifying are being sent back via the established expedited removal process. We don't have the resources to do it. As planned.

The vast majority are simply being released into the country, some with court dates, but with woefully inadequate court staffing to handle these outrageous numbers, it is subterfuge. Most won't even show up to court. They rarely do. Nor will they be expelled as required if they don't. But you DGAF because you really don't care about immigration laws. The ends justify the means.

This is an intentional encouraged invasion with no vetting, no existing humanitarian accommodations to support the sheer numbers, and an outright disregard for the orderly legal process to manage it.

It's a push to bring in bodies, any bodies, as many as possible, as fast as possible, probably with a future amnesty to be proposed as the magic wand to work around the ignored established legal process.

I can see why you don't want anybody even casually mentioning that there is a crisis. That might cause people to question the idiocy of this totally disgusting, destabilizing maneuver. Typical democrat business as usual.

You can't say anything without someone getting offended. Hell, if you say foreigner, it's offensive. If you're from a foreign land, you're a foreigner. Calling people "oriental" offends even though they are from the orient. F what everyone thinks and F their feelings. I'm not condoning obvious slurs but folks should just speak your mind and be done with caring about some jackwagon's feelings getting hurt.
