Obviously an unbelievable potential threat. I just wish he were nowhere near KO returns. I know the speed, etc....but the increased chance of getting hurt and being such a long strider I hate him in this role.
I wish he had a more scaled down, but focused role. Don't care if snaps go down....but would love to see him comfortable. You can tell he plays with a big body/injury awareness piece to his game. So, give him edge stutter/go and posts and sit him at 7. If he gets a LB/nickel matchup and catches a ball at 7 and shakes him...then we have something. I just hate the crossing routes for him (despite the great height) because of HOW he plays.

we aren't even using him on deep routes where he is almost always the fastest player on the field. He must be awful in practice.

back in Spurrier's Florida days, every game would see 3-5 deep shots to Jack Johnson who would usually make the other team pay the price.

Harbor is fast, he is usually in front of the DB going deep. Then Sellers does not see him and throws the ball short, or Sellers sees him and over throws the ball.

On one of his routes, he was under thrown badly, but if he high points the ball, the DB does stand a chance. Instead he didn’t go after it and it was knocked down.

Harbor is not a Power 4 wide receiver. I’ll stop right there.
I’m pretty sure any team in the SEC would let Harbor play for them. He is not a natural receiver though and has poor ball skills. If you could play above the rim he would be one of the best wide receivers of the last decade.

Remember Harbor was a 5-star DEFENSIVE END in HS. Not a WR. He/We djdnt want him to put on the weight for college DE.

So essentially we took a track guy and put him at WR, which everyone knows is hit or miss in football. Had he gone the DE route he may very well have been All SEC bc he was an elite HS DE

On the initial Kick off he got stung in the thigh on the tackle. It bothered me that he had little illusiveness and just ran straight into the tackler.
If you watch after the play, you can tell it really bothered him and he shook his leg. It is clear he doesn't like contact and must have always preserved the legs for track. He is an anomaly. We don't seem to have any other physical receivers either, if you think about it.

Hindsight is twenty twenty but had he focused solely on defensive end and played around 6’5” 255 he would’ve been an animal. Talk about sideline to sideline. Focusing solely on track and slimming down would have been a good choice as well. Could’ve been an Olympian.

He probably would have made more money as a DE than he will ever make as a WR in the NFL. I doubt he will make the NFL as a WR.

Someone will take a chance on him because of his size/speed numbers. A late round chance probably.

On paper, hes a beast.

I can't believe when we got down inside the 5 we didn't at least throw one fade route to harbor and give him a chance. WE sure had problems running it early

It was Miss State after all.

Harbors' problem in kick off returns is, ironically, his first few steps. He's slow. Hesitant. Not confident.... and even if he was not hesitant, and very confident, his first few steps are slow in that role. I stress, in that roll.

Swain is the one you want back there returning kick offs. - If he can't catch it for some reason, have someone else catch it and hand it off to Swain. Harbor is a fish out of water back there.

This whole thing is a debacle. (and we still nearly won, and nearly blew them out....so I don't know wtf to think at this point) Gamecock football: a mystery, wrapped in a riddle, inside an enigma.

I wish we wouldn`t even try to run back kickoffs. The 25 yd. line ain`t a bad place to be to start out with. Don`t think it`s worth the risk of injury as well, especially to Harbor when we aren`t deep at WR. Someone who ran one back nicely after they took Nyck out was very fast, not sure who that was.

Instead he took the route to average. Coulda been an Olympian. Coulda been the next Clowney opposite of Dylan Stewart (My God what a duo that would be).

USC has not managed him well

I have no problem calling him out or Sellers. They are getting paid more money in one year that I will make in over 10 years. Beamer will not sit them, and therefore, Beamer should be fired as well.

Harbor isn’t going to catch a ball unless it falls into his arms. He’s incapable of going up and high pointing a ball

Ah but we DID send him deep where he easily beat his guy and then, yes you guessed it, Sellers underthrew it. Result was incompletion because god forbid Harbor fight for it.

Beamer is the only coach who agreed to let him play WR and continue to run track. That is why he came to SC.

Any team in the SEC would have let him play DE for them. I don't think any other team in the SEC was willing to let him learn a new position playing for them and let him run track.

There is a reason he is at SC, and that reason is, Beamer was the only coach who agreed to his terms.

My main issue with Harbor is that he refuses to block. I don't know how you continue to play a receiver with his numbers that also refuses to block. He should be sat until he decides to do half of his job.

Only Beamer will let a WR who won't block play at all. Watch the good teams play and their WRs are blocking downfield on running plays and after every pass completion. Beamer has some sort of man love thing going on with Harbor where Harbor gets to decide what he does and doesn't do.
