@CatGotMyTongue anyone blowing up the neighborhood this year?
Cancelled. Our mutual buddy (who puts on shows bigger than the crap downtown) decided no show this year after last year when one of his drunk buddies knocked a mortar over and it shot into a house and a group of people. No one was hurt except our district councilman who broke his foot on a cimderblock try to do Lordknows what to quell the situatio I think that spooked him. I don’t blame him especially since he foots the bill

Not to worry—there will be some serious redneck shelling off Leestown tonight.

I heard they weren’t doing one, but didn’t know why. We’ll be over by the school. Should be a’plenty.

New neighbor activity at that one house I just love. There is a new model Subaru in the driveway. I would love this new neighbor to be a prototypical Subaru driver. I don’t feel like talking to em today though. Probably never, and I hope I hardly ever notice them.

Few things in this life are as nerve wracking as teaching your kid to drive. My wife did it exactly once. Both her & my daughter walked back in the door saying they were never doing it again with each other. I have much more patience and am way more laid back & calm. Keeping them calm is key...because if you aren’t calm there’s no way they will be. You can’t panic and yell when they mess up...because they will panic and get flustered and their already nervous state of mind will increase exponentially off the charts.

My daughter has gotten much, much better. But lord have mercy the first few times are insanely “nerve wracking”. And each progression is just as much so as you move from your driveway to the neighborhood to parking lots to main streets to highways, etc...

Begrudgingly, I am going to steal one of my least favorite Cal quotes...

“It’s a process.”

Wife and I split the job with our oldest. I have a 100% chance of being 100% in charge of the middle kid’s learning.

The very first time I took him somewhere to drive, he put his left foot on the brake. It was indeed a process.

It’s the first day of the first grade,
And she found a new best friend.
It’s a laid back Sunday afternoon,
You wish would never end.
The homemade taste of Blue Bell,
And good friends gathered round.
The good ol’ days are being made right now.
