Pete is trying to take it to the rim more but he got a perfect pass from Young and instead of finishing toward the hoop, he misses a fadeaway. Very frustrating!

I can think of 3 plays in the first 4 minutes today: twice he gets the ball inside with the advantage on his defender. Instead of going straight up to finish, the first time he hesitated and ended up throwing up a total fadeaway brick and the second time he threw a no-look bounce pass to nobody. The third time he got the ball he shot a 3 that was easily blocked.

I really want it to be there for him, but the more I see how Beran and Kopp and Young and even Jones are improving Pete’s just falling behind.

He has a long way to go to Be an Effective offensive player. The other players mentioned above look like they have greater potential unfortunately.

A very soft player. Has good skills and very talented. Still no FT attempts despite being in situations where you would expect it. He will be a meaningful role player in the next two years of good NU teams. This game today vs Illini was very encouraging. Buie, Beran, Gaines, Kopp, Nance, Audige, Young, Jones plus new guys will be good to watch and they should win quite a lot.
