Honestly, I think Pete Nance is trying to figure out if he’s supposed to be a big or a wing, and I think that may be a reason he seems unsure of himself out there.

I think he basically played the point in HS, so figuring it out at this level has to be tough, and missing that chunk of time with mono last year didn’t help.

He’s halfway through his college career, so he needs to figure it out!

Anytime nance shoots, it’s a win for the other team. He just can’t put the ball in the basket

He did not attack the basket one single time. But why another thread on Nance underperforming expectations? I’m ready to wait for summer and see how much stronger he gets back

Clearly Collins sees that he's not playing up to his expectations and his playing time has dropped dramatically. From earlier in the season

Whether Nance thinks he's a big (a stretch-4) or a wing, or even a former PG who just managed to grow a lot - he should still be able to shoot at least half-way decently.

The book on him coming out of HS was that while not as athletic as his brother, he was more skilled.

Haven't exactly seen those skills.

Now, there is still time for Nance to develop, but time is starting to run out.

Will Nance be able to give 2 good seasons like Hearn did or 1.5 good seasons like Lindsey?

I totally understand why coaches and basketball observers salivate over Nance. He's got the size and skill set, but to me he doesn't really play within the rhythm of the game. When he gets the ball, he just seems a little off rhythm from everyone else. Not sure if he tries to do too much because of what the expectations are of him, but he doesn't look smooth. His shots come out flat, he makes some questionable decisions on the defensive end.

Next season will say a lot about whether he will be a really good player or just a guy that didn't reach his potential. Seems like a good kid- I hope he can find another level to his game.

How about Nance walking the ball out of bounds after Spencer had already inbounded it to him in the 2nd half as Rutgers was in the middle of their comeback? He seems to make at least one of these boneheaded unforced errors per game! Sure would have been nice to have one more possession in regulation...

Nance is really struggling. Over the past 4 games, Pete is shooting .181 inside the arc, .200 beyond the arc and .250 from the free throw line while committing 1.75 turnovers per game. Woof! I can't possibly imagine that this will continue, right?! If he provides a halfway decent stat line, some of these L's start to turn into W's.

I'm starting to think his poor play will continue and maybe even degrade since he'll be playing less and less as Collins is starting Robbie And plays Turner at the end of the game.

He now has to earn his minutes. Needs to get his head together and focus on improving in at least one area. There were a few games there where he started working inside and he really has potential but then he seemed to abandon that and has regressed.

I don't see anything noticeably different in his mechanics, but based on the results he certainly seems to have lost confidence in his shot recently. Maybe too rushed and uncomfortable. As someone else noted, it's not just the 3 point shot - he's been too nervous to make the short ones as well unfortunately. Would like to see him turn it around but don't have much confidence at this point.

His foot speed on defense is unfortunately a liability there. Seems like he's gotten stronger to bang with the bigs, but he is not quick enough so often gets himself out of position / in foul trouble.
